A very healthy reminder

Bought this for my son. He really enjoyed it. Great book, makes you think.

*** VIDEO IS FROM AFTER READING THE BOOK, IT ARRIVED IN BRAND NEW CONDITION*** (just showing for the purpose of showing what the spine and back look like 🙂) The Death of Ivan Ilych This sub-100-page novella contains richer and denser emotions and discussions than countless 300+ page novels; there is not much to say about it without spoiling, but what I can say is that this novel largely happens inside of Ivan llych's head - his fears, experiences, regrets, and realisations. It deals with existentialism and the fears that accompany dying and the head-on confrontation with death. It really illustrates the detrimental impacts of society's expectations and Ivan llych's death provides a solid foundation for discussing a singular question: life, death, what is it all for? Outstanding, and stands the test of time. If I could wish for anything, it would be the novella were longer and contained more details on his family and how his life and death impacted them. Regardless, there is a beauty in seeing death solely from the dying man's perspective. 5⭐️ Three Deaths This edition of 'The Death of Ivan llych' contained the short story 'Three Deaths' after the title story. I couldn't connect with this story (or rather, three <10 page stories) as well as the title story, but it ties in well with the title story, containing themes of regret in the form of repentance. It felt like reading a writing exercise as it explores different perspectives on death, and how class and other factors (you'll know by reading it) affect how death is viewed and approached. It was weirdly insightful for a story so notably short. It's hard to rate this one due to its length, so I'll leave it at that.
