Great quality product
I've been using Nutricost for years as needed, and have also tried many other brand products. I do not use any supplement without 3rd party seals of inspection to guarantee authenticity. This is one reason I prefer Nutricost. This NAC works better than most I've tried.

Love this brand
Well firstly to my surprise. It’s been about two weeks or so. The dull ache I’ve been dealing with is slowly going away. Very impressive. I’m excited to continue taking this to see more results. It does smell funny if you smell them. Which I don’t. I simply take them. There’s no insane whiff upon opening them imo. No complaints. My research implied there’s no real difference with vitamins besides the labeling. I disagree with that. This brand feels more effective than most other brands I’ve tried. The size is reasonable to swallow. I would consider regular size. Quick results. One thing I’m interested to see if it can help with, is my husband’s smoking habits, sleep quality and energy levels. I’ll update in a few months.

Great for hangovers, same as the stuff in the name brands but waaay cheaper
NAC is a source of L-Cysteine that brands like Cheers restore use to reduce the effects of hangovers. Cheers and similar brands are transparent in their blends so it's not hard to recreate the effects with different supplements. L-Cysteine and DHM are both the active ingredients in most hangover aids, so this is one of two parts to DIY it.There are a few huge benefits to going the DIY route. NAC is supposed to be taken PRIOR to drinking for the best effects, and most aids that contain it are a few pills that you take AFTER. Some studies show it might be detrimental to take it after drinking, even. I'd recommend doing your own research before taking any supplement with/around alcohol, but this relationship is pretty well known. Also, by splitting the supplements up, you can control what you're actually taking. The pre-mixed ones typically have a laundry list of supplements, some of which can cause adverse reactions. By isolating each, you know how you react. The other benefit is cost - this with DHM is pennies per dose, versus 3 bucks a pop for name brand hangover relief, and cheaper ones have very lose dosages. I can't comment on if the dosages are correct and manufacturing is consistent, but through a few nights drinking, I can reliably say it significantly helps with my hangovers.

Science Backed Antioxidant
Key takeaways: Limits alcohol-induced liver damage (if taken before drinking); is a powerful antioxidant; is great for acne; shown promise in reducing ADHD medication toxicity; promising in nicotine (and other stimulant based) addiction treatment. In terms of the product (not the vitamin itself), I find that this is well packaged and is great value for money. As others have said, there is a smell. However, this is not secreted when sweating so you won't smell like it. Besides, the smell is not that bad so just swallow it quickly. Now for the nerds. On the science front, I like to use this product due to its scientifically backed benefits (and promising applications). Below are some examples. For Acne. In a single-blind placebo study (human trial), NAC caused a 50% reduction in total lesion counts in acne patients after supplementing 1200 mg/day orally for 8 weeks. For alcohol consumption. Pretreatment (30 minutes) of NAC in rodents given alcohol appears to reduce liver damage while giving NAC after alcohol (four hours) may aggravate the damage induced by alcohol. One other study assessing mitochondrial structure of liver tissue in alcoholic rodents found that administration of NAC seemed to prevent the hormetic response to alcohol while not necessarily preventing other forms of damage to mitochondria; this observation occurred alongside the standard reduction in oxidative damage. For Nicotine Addiction. In one study, subjects addicted to nicotine given 2,400mg N-acetylcysteine for four weeks relative to placebo, supplementation tended to reduce the frequency of cigarettes smoked after two weeks of supplementation. These findings come from an objective scientific review online journal. You can find more on NAC on a website called "Examine".Feel free to message me or comment if you have any questions about the science aspect!

Greatly improved my lung capacity
After taking this product for about two weeks at the normal dosage of 600mg per day, I noticed a huge improvement in my breathing. I never really had issues with shortness of breath, but I couldn’t help but notice being able to take in much longer, deeper breathes and holding more air in my lungs, along with my nasal passages feeling more clear. It’s as if I have on an oxygen mask. And I understand this is one of the possible benefits of taking NAC, but it has definitely been the best help for me, even though I initially started taking it to help with liver cleansing.

Most powerful antioxidant but could come with some unwanted side effects
Use it mostly for the antioxidant reasons but have noticed it reducing my anxiety a bit. However, it does kind of dull down the effect of caffeine for me. Same thing happened to my significant other so they stopped taking it all together. I used to take 1800mg (3 pills) daily but due to the dulling of caffeine for me I’ve noticed taking only 1 pill after work allows me to benefit from the NAC and still get the effect of caffeine in the am.
