It's actually pretty good.
Well, for starters it works as advertised by the sellers. But since this item already had a bad reputation with Youtubers reviewing it, I was a bit reluctant to buy this product. But overall I am happy that I bought this item, it's very cheap so even if I didn't like it I could always just forget about it. The main reason why I bought it is because my Desktop was not powerful enough to drive my microphone, and I saw that one Youtuber actually got better sounding microphone buying this specific item. But of course he was also the one that warned people not to buy them because not all of these products are the same now. So I just gambled and ordered one. My actual review of the Sabrent AU-MMSA USB Audio Stereo Sound Adapter : It did boost the volume of my microphone by quite a bit and I could no longer hear any background noises even if I raise the gain of my microphone. So I am quite happy with this item. I just don't recommend it if you can afford an audio interface.

Not working properly.
This usb drive works on and off, on and off. I bought it to use a microphone that I had purchased on my MacBook. I was supposed to just plug this drive into the usb, and then plug the microphone into the drive. It works for a second, then stops, then works for a second, then stops. The worst part is: now I can't return it.

Good value, issues with external design
Sound quality is good on Windows 10. Using OTG adapter, it even worked on Android tablet. Good value of money and cheap alternative for faulty audio jack if any. Problems: mic volume and mute does not appear on screen. Buttons on the device should have colored labels, not just plain black, hard to see when in use. Both LEDs are same color, and does not help in finding what is happening. Size is bit wide and blocks use of 2nd adjacent USB socket, it's due to having separate sockets for mic. and headphone.

Bought this for my Arctis 3 headset for my PC, because the microphone was buzzing very loudly at higher levels. Plugged this in, set the levels, and NO MORE BUZZING! For this I have to give it a 5/5

Hoewel in de beschrijving van Amazon voor dit product staat dat ook luidsprekers er op werken, is dat niet het geval. Deze adapter is alleen geschikt voor een koptelefoon.

I purchased the SABRENT External USB 3D Audio Sound Adapter (AU-DDAB) to upgrade the audio from my laptop, and I am very impressed with the results. This is a solid, plug-and-play device that delivers clean, high-quality audio with zero unwanted noise. One feature I particularly appreciate is the LED indicator system. • A solid blue light means the connection is active/ready and unmuted. • A blinking blue light signifies that sound is actively being output or the microphone is in use. • A solid white light for the microphone indicator confirms that it has been muted/levels pulled down to 0. This visual feedback is incredibly helpful for quickly verifying the device's status at a glance. Configurations for SABRENT External USB 3D Audio Sound Adapter (AU-DDAB): • Configuration 1: SABRENT Adapter connected to a laptop and a headphones amplifier. In this setup, the adapter is connected to the laptop's USB port, and an external headphones amplifier is connected to the adapter's output jack. My headphones are then connected to the amplifier. The headphone LED indicator is solid blue (active connection, muted/unmuted). The microphone LED is also solid blue (unmuted/levels above 0). The LEDs blink blue when sound is playing (headphones) or when the microphone is actively in use. This setup produces loud, clear sound with zero noise interference. • Configuration 2: Muted microphone setting shown by the white LED. This setup is the same configuration as Configuration 1, but illustrates the microphone status indicator. The microphone level settings on my laptop have been muted and the volume/gain pulled down to zero. As a result, the microphone LED indicator on the Sabrent adapter glows a solid white light, providing a clear visual confirmation of the muted status. • Configuration 3: Headphones plugged directly into the SABRENT Adapter. Here, the external amplifier has been removed from the chain, and my headphones are plugged directly into the SABRENT adapter. The headphone LED is solid blue (active connection, muted/unmuted), blinking blue when sound plays. The microphone LED is solid blue (unmuted/levels above 0). This direct connection provides excellent clarity and volume; at 50% playback volume, the sound is highly detailed with no humming or noise. • Configuration 4: Muted microphone in a direct connection setup (White LED). This setup is the same as Configuration 3, but I have adjusted the laptop settings to mute the microphone levels. The resulting solid white LED indicator confirms that the microphone input is successfully muted and its volume/gain is at zero. Audio Performance & Sound Texture: The audio quality on this little device is impressive. I noticed that the loudness and clarity are actually superior when using the Configuration 3 (direct connection). • Direct Connection (Best Detail): With the playback volume at 50%, the sound is incredibly detailed. I can hear the finest textures of the music—the specific vibration of guitar strings, the soft push of a piano key, and the nuances in vocals. It captures the very softest parts of a song with perfect clarity. • Using the Amplifier: To achieve that same "full soundscape" and level of detail when using an external amp (Configuration 1), I found the "sweet spot" is keeping the playback volume at 50% and then increasing the headphone amplifier volume to 70%. When configured this way, and as long as there is no electromagnetic interference, the sound is exceptionally loud and clear, presenting a wide and immersive soundscape Conclusion: This adapter has significantly improved my audio experience. The absence of noise interference combined with the high level of detail and clarity it provides makes it an outstanding product for its price point. It's robust, reliable, and highly recommended.

Updated 5/11/15: Audio quality may actually be worse than your current setup, something I've noticed for a while but finally got around to writing here. Strong highs and clamped lows can make your music, videos, or games sound sharper and weaker, depending on what you're playing and your headphones. This isn't immediately noticeable and is clearly not severe enough to turn me or others off, but this should be taken into consideration. All other impressions still stand about 2 months later. --- + Build quality feels solid and compact with nice presentation + Virtually no setup required to use + Customer service is excellent (details below) - (Update 5/11/15) Sound quality can be worse than current motherboards/sound cards with weak bass and sharper treble - No custom Sabrent drivers to customize sound input/output processing This has a nicer metallic presentation and build quality than what is expected from the plastic, black one Sabrent also offers. It is fairly large, certainly larger than I could picture from the images (which are not, by any means, inaccurate), whereas the plastic version looks more combat. Otherwise, make sure you have a USB port that won't conflict with anything used exclusively by wireless receivers or external hard drives, though a USB extension cable is conveniently provided if needed. The sound quality going in and out initially sounds exactly as it should be: it doesn't sound any better or worse than it should for 48 KHz stereo output and 44.1 KHz mono input. Depending on what you're listening to and your previous setup for sound, you may find that this outputs noticeably worse. For a cheap and reliable device of this nature, this shouldn't be an issue to most though (since audiophiles should seek repair or sound card replacement). However, there are alternative sound adapters that may have better audio quality if this is something that is unacceptable to you. I do wish that there were a driver provided that extends the software-side functionality of this adapter since Windows' only option is Automatic Gain Control, but I appreciate that it can be easily initialized and plug-and-played. To say the least, this is absolutely phenomenal given the price, compared to several other general-purpose USB audio adapters that I also considered. Do note that faulty units with swapped L/R stereo channels still seem to be out there. I received the order quickly from Store4PC, and was disappointed to find that the issue echoed in many reviews appeared in the one I was shipped and that posts about the problem already being fixed didn't apply. However, I sent one email about the issue to [email protected], who posts on virtually every negative review about product defects. I didn't see any signs of follow-up from other customers, but the experience was actually very painless and helpful. I received a reply almost exactly 24 hours later notifying that a replacement would be shipped immediately. I received the replacement unit as quickly as the original one from the same seller, barring the weekend wait. The replacement fixes the swapped channels and looks and functions exactly the same otherwise! Very surprising and pleasant experience with this product and company. Will continue to update if there are any abnormal issues with longevity or build quality, but it appears to be a very solid product that is very easy to recommend.
