Empty bottle seems heavy.
Yes, there is a clump of flaxseed sediment in the bottom of the bottle. No big deal I fed it to my dog a little each day. Great product, will buy again

Pure flaxseed oil
After reading on the label that the flaxseed oil contained sunflower oil I called the company to find out what percentage of the total volume was actually flaxseed oil. According to the kind customer service representative, sunflower oil is used only as an excipient to process the small amounts of preservatives that are in the actual flaxseed oil. The oil itself contains solids (lignans)which are part of the unprocessed seed, and this contributes to the residue in the bottle that some people have complained about. Apparently they have health benefits and dissolve into the product when shaken. I found the taste to be quite good, and since it cost about half the price of many of the more expensive varieties, I will continue to buy it.

Excellent High Lignan Oil!,
People are giving bad reviews and showing videos of the cruddy stuff on the bottom, saying that it is bad/ rancid — not realizing that that cruddy stuff is what makes this oil so very special! It is a HIGH LIGNAN OIL — it’s supposed to have that cruddy stuff on the bottom — that cruddy stuff is the lignan that makes this oil especially healthy!! Just shake the bottle well before using and enjoy all the good stuff that it has!! Stop giving bad reviews and misleading people if you don’t know what you are talking about!!

Not even sure what it was.
I have been taking the flax seed oil for many years. I got it from different brands and countries. I'm still in awe of what I found in this bottle. And not in a good way.First, when I read the back of the label once bottle arrived, I noticed that it listed a sunflower oil as second ingredient. No mention of it on the front. Very deceiving. I don't need sunflower oil. I am paying for flax seed. But it was only first of the many unpleasant surprises. After learning about sunflower oil, I went to Amazon to return the bottle. Surprise! It's not returnable!Okay, let's open it then. Once opened, I found dark sediment with consistency of finely grounded coffee under the foil covering the opening. Why? What is this? Never seen anything like that in my flax seed oil. Have they forgotten to strain? ( see the photo )Next I poured some oil in the spoon. O, my! It was dark brown. Nope, that's not the right color either. Then I poured about a half of the oil in the glass. It looks like black coffee. ( see the photos). No, no, no. That is not how it supposed to look like. Then I don't even know why I decided to try a drop of it. Big mistake! The bitterness is unbearable, very bad taste. The flax oil is expected to be slightly bitter, but this oil taste is wrong.Just to satisfy my curiosity I decided to cut the bottle itself open to see what is inside. God, that looked terrible. Roughly 1/3 of content is dark brown sediment ( see the picture). It not supposed to be there, what is it, is it safe , why so much? I would leave those questions to the manufacturer here.Feel free to answer.Stay away from this oil. I would not recommend to consume it.

Works great on my hair but sediment is gross
This think, yellow, odorless oil works wonders on my curly hair. It seals in moisture, keeps hair from frizzing, and keeps it from tangling up right after I detangle it, BUT it still clumps nicely for defined curls.I bought this for an irritated scalp. I think my scalp gets irritated by gels and dryness in the winter. So, it’s amazing that I can use this to help style my hair with fewer products. One treatment with this over leave-in cream works wonders. This oil also helps my flat iron press last longer. It even helps me to keep my hair tame when I lightly straighten with a hot brush it under low hear. Of course, the winter weather is helping.I think that the sediment is gross. I tried pouring some off the top, but it still mixed in. So, I filtered it through a towel and threw out the yucky mess. I am shocked that people drink this gunk. I suppose it is just husks but it still looks gross. Of course, you lose product by filtering it… I wish they prefiltered it before bottling it. But, for the price and volume, it still creates value. Still, I do plan to try other brands in the future.

High Quality Food Supplement
I use this organic flax oil daily in my smoothies and in homemade dressings. It tastes good and gives me the Omega 3’s that can be hard to get in an American diet.

Has sunflower oil
Disceptive label. If it's got other oils then it's not pure flaxseed oil. I loved the oil but I'm taking flaxseed for my health & the sunflower seed oil is not part of protocol.

Good quality flaxseed oil
I started using this when Trader Joe’s discontinued their flaxseed oil. This has turned out to be a great replacement and at a better price when on sale. Mine tastes fine, but If yours taste rancid, it is possible that some Amazon warehouses aren’t kept at an optimum temperature which could affect the quality (just a theory.) That “gunk” is the flax seed hulls ground up since this is a whole food that is not filtered. The solids do not dissolve and sink to the bottom. I take a long handled spoon to loosen the solid stuff and put it all in a blender to distribute it evenly for my salad dressing.
