Great Laptop, Long Battery, Runs Linux Well
I bought this with the intention of running Zorin OS and never booting into Windows. So far this laptop has been great. The screen is very nice, the keyboard is decent, touch pad works well, I have never heard the fans, external GPU does work, and the battery is great; which is the main reason I purchased this laptop. In case anyone is interested in also installing Zorin, the camera login isn't working for me even after trying some workaround, webcam works but the hello windows alternative does not. I'll report back after some time, I think its just a driver issue. The finger print driver also does not work. There are some claims that some users were able to get this working but I have not been successful. I'm not really all that interested in those options but it would be nice to get the finger print device to work. For graphics, the Xe driver doesn't seem to work that well but I'm guessing that with some time, this will change. Overall, I'm super impressed and very happy with this purchase. I can't speak for Windows as I never let it boot before wiping out of the box, due to the systems specifications the bloat in Windows likely causes some resource issues. I imagine that this is what causes most of the bad reviews on this system, outside of hardware issues, hot tip, avoid manufacturer warranties, complain to amazon and get a new one shipped... I did end up buying another for a family member (50+) and installed Zorin on theirs as well, after a week they say its their favorite laptop ever so take that as you will.

Good light, budget laptop
As a relatively inexpensive and light laptop, the Acer Swift 3 is pretty solid. It's not a heavy duty laptop and it isn't going to be a great option for gaming or video editing or anything that requires a lot of processing power, but as a general purpose laptop for surfing the web or watching YouTube videos it's going to be perfectly functional. It weighs in around 2.6-2.8lbs (my scale isn't very precise and the reading fluctuated between the two after several tries), which makes it quite easy to carry around without feeling weighed down. The construction feels about what I would expect for a computer in this price range, which is to say it's not top quality but it's not flimsy either. The keyboard is not overly clicky, although it is a bit louder than i would like. I am generally not a fan of laptop keyboards as I prefer a bit more responsiveness but all things considered it's not bad. The backlighting on the keyboard works well. The Cinebench score was a rather pedestrian 5000. But regardless of benchmarks, I have found it works perfectly well for my everyday needs. I can have a full-screen video running on one screen while surfing the web on another with no lag or hiccups. I keep several programs open all the time (including Chrome which is a serious memory hog) and the laptop doesn't have any performance issues. Considering the price point I am very satisfied with its performance. The one negative about the setup is that the RAM cannot be upgraded (I got 8gb and wanted 16gb but wasn't going to pay the ridiculous cost difference to buy it pre-installed). I also would have liked 1 more usb port, but 2 is pretty standard so it's not something I would hold against it. Overall I am very satisfied with this laptop. If you don't carry your laptop around very much you might consider looking around for other options because there are probably other more performant options around this price range at the cost of more weight. But if you want a portable, inexpensive laptop that performs well on common everyday tasks then this is a great choice.

Good for the Price, Slightly above average laptop overall.
Pros: Price, battery life, overall performance, light weight, responsive fingerprint sensor, fast (so for no issues) Cons: PATHETIC PLACEMENT OF POWER BUTTON. I bet you're gonna press it numerous times mistaking for delete button. Same goes for a needless airplane mode button next to brightness button. Wonder how do they not notice while designing. Bad microphone and an average audio quality. Webcam is average too. So not a super we conference/zoom friendly device, but it does the job. Touchpad is below average. I also occasionally get glitches while streaming HD videos, but this is a minor issue. Built quality is average. I do not expect everything top notch for the price it's offered. I would, however, expect a slightly better microphone and touchpad quality. And ofcourse the damn placement of power button Overall if you're looking for a decent laptop that can do your regular office/school job with a pretty good batter, go for it. I wouldn't recommend it if you want a premium-type experience. I guess, price speaks for itself.

Barely handles internet browsing. Crashes constantly
I would give it ZERO stars if I could. I would never purchase this laptop again and I would be offended it if were offered to me as a gift. I purchased this laptop as a student on a budget in 2021 and I think I paid around $700-$800 for it. Within the first week of use I started experiencing crashing problems where the laptop would slightly overheat, the fan starts going crazy and the computer just shuts itself off. This still happens to me at least once a week and it’s been over two years of me owning this laptop. At first it was just an annoying occurrence when I would be streaming a movie or a tv show and the computer would crash but then it started happening while working on my schoolwork and it got very frustrating. I reached out to acer about it and they told me I would need to erase everything on it and securely package and ship the laptop at my own expense to one of their centers which would have taken several weeks with no guarantee that they would actually be able to resolve the issue. So I obviously never sent it in because I didn’t have a secondary laptop to use in the absence of mine. So in summary poor performance, crashes all the time, I guess the display is fine but I wouldn’t use it for gaming because it can barely handle internet browsing. Also forgot to mention the speakers are absolute trash, audio is faint on the loudest setting and apparently so is the microphone I have been told on video calls my voice is either too loud or can’t be heard (while speaking normally). So yeah DONT waste your money

Awesome laptop!
Not bad for a little budget laptop! Had some major screen glitching/jerking issues when I first got it, but after updating and upgrading to Windows 11, I'm not seeing it as often, like very seldom to rarely now. Before it was fairly often almost to the point of it being unusable. Thank goodness I hung in there, and did the updating and upgrading. Steam and some light Steam games like Heave Ho, Ori and the Blind Forest run like a charm. Going to test some other games as the days go on. Definitely worth it if you do a lot of traveling, yet powerful enough to load up a game and pass the time while waiting at the airport or trainstation. I would highly recommend!

Amazing for the price
The Acer Swift Go 14 fits all my needs and wants except for one: a built-in RJ-45 Ethernet port. Otherwise, it's the perfect laptop. Build quality is impressive, the display is absolutely amazing, the keyboard is nice with good backlighting, and the trackpad is smooth, soft, and accurate (though I wish it were a bit bigger). Performance is more than I'll need for quite a while because I use laptops for when I'm on the road for work, so almost entirely web-based tasks. This laptop is an incredible value and I can't recommend it enough. It deserves way more attention!

Better to Give Than Receive
I bought this computer to re-immmerse in the Windows Environment after using Macs, exclusively for the last 10+ years. My job is supporting students who use both systems and I felt it was a good investment. The price tag didn’t necessarily break the bank. And I’ve had a generally positive experience with it so far. Pros: -She’s fast. I have five desktops with multiple apps running on each and have not run into any issues with performance. -Gorgeous High Resolution OLED display with almost 4K quality. -Very light. She’s a 16” and I’ve preferred using more than my Mac for the simple fact she’s so light and easy to carry around. -Fantastic feel from the keyboard. Very quiet. Very responsive keys. And I appreciate the conveniently placed number pad on the side. -Doesn’t get hot. Has a strong processor and can handle a lot of multitasking. She’s built Ford Tough. Sensible cooling system blows outward and not downward/inward. -Strong hinges. It’s a very well built machine. -Webcam is pretty good. Above average resolution with a very wide angle. Cons: -Very low volume from speakers. Disappointingly low. Better have headphones or be okay with subscribing to a volume boosting app. (VLC automatically has a 100% boost for volume) if you’re like me, you watch a lot of TV Shows/movies. Not the best laptop for that -Non-upgradable RAM. I got this laptop with high hopes for gaming. I planned ahead to upgrade to 32 or 64GBs. Then learned the RAM is soldered to the motherboard. That’s my fault for not researching that. I feel like if the XBOX app is now native to virtually every Windows laptop, they should have all the system requirements. Between the GPU and RAM, this system is n not ideal for gaming, almost at all. -Touchpad can be a little too sensitive. You can make changes to it in settings. -Fans can be loud at times. Part of the benefits of remaining cool is the noise the fans make. Very noticeable. -not sure where to put this on the hardware or the software, but my experience with using Bluetooth speakers/headphones has been a little chaotic. I was able to pair with my Echo Speaker and then all of a sudden that stopped working. Then I tried pairing with my AirPod Pro Max headphones and the audio was still coming from the built-in speaker. -I wish you could manage keyboard backlight settings. I had to disable it in the BIOS. Small gripe. All in all, while this is a great PC, I think it’s one I’d get for a family member who needs a sturdy laptop they can use for years or is going off to college and can use it while they save up for something more beefed up. For a few hundred bucks more I’d invest in a system with a better GPU and more/upgradeable RAM. Those two things make a significant difference, depending on what you want out of a PC.

So far so good
If you want a lightweight laptop this is a good option and cost effective for our purposes. We use it as a mobile device that interfaces with a remote server so I can't speak much to the computing power. Display is sharp with adequate brightness. We just started using this so don't know about longevity or resistance to abuse, drops etc
