I have to admit. I was skeptical about this simple thing could or even would help my sweet kitty. When we adopted our kitty Peppa, she had been surrendered to a cat shelter when she was just about to have a litter of kittens. By the time we heard about her she had already weened her kittens and was spayed. This cat shelter offers a cage free environment for the cats so they feel at home, moving from place to place freely inside their building. People can move about freely among the cats until they find the cat that appears to be drawn to them. Peppa found us so we adopted her. She became a part of our family. My husband and I are retired and at that time we had 2 yorkie pups, brother and sister. It took a few weeks but eventually the pups and kitty all adjusted nicely to each other. She is an indoor only kitty. At first our kitty seemed happy and did well as an indoor cat. But then we started noticing patches of her fur seemed to have been chewed away around the base of her tail and her lower back. There were even bite marks that were bleeding or scabbed over. We took her to our vet and they immediately prescribed drugs to treat a possible parasite. These meds are very expensive, but to our credit, we thought we were doing the best for our cat. But even after months of giving her the meds, she only seemed to be getting worse. She had pulled out almost all of her fur from the base of her tail near her back, on her belly, and between her back legs now too. I thought there had to be something better out there. Something that actually works without costing a small fortune. So I did some research. I found that you can literally spend thousands of $ trying to figure out why your cat does this and never come to a conclusion. I read that it could simply be separation anxiety from other felines. If you have 1 cat in your home, they may feel overwhelmed and begin chewing and biting their skin. A type of nervousness. Often times, simply getting another cat will resolve the issues. But it is not always possible for a person to have more than 1 cat. The research I read suggests that it’s cat pheromones that seem to be the issue with some cats. That’s where Feliway comes into view. I learned that the feline pheromones in the defuser is what seems to work. So I bought 1 to try, plugged it in and after only a week into the first defuser, I was sold on it and was shocked to find that it was actually working. IT ACTUALLY WORKS!! If you have a similar situation with your cat, I highly recommend this defuser.

Got this for my bedroom as my cat is very nervous, skiddish, and pees on the bed. It was getting pretty bad, I’m talking every other day almost! Literally since the day I plugged it in, he has not had ONE single accident! I’m trusting him on the bed now for cuddles. Very effective, love love love this! I will note, the plug-in is bulky and kind of leaky, I see oil underneath it on my wood floor, but it’s not ruining it. Just something to keep in mind, maybe keep a towel or something underneath if you want. The smell isn’t crazy, kind of like a faint wood/cardboard smell. Makes no noticeable noise. Overall great product. Definitely will keep buying.

I bought these when I noticed that my cat had started licking a couple of bald spots on herself after moving into a new house with a dog. It worked a treat; solved the overgrooming issue and really seemed to help her feel more confident and at ease exploring her new space (and getting used to her new roommate!). Would definitely use again.

I have used Feliway for years, based on recommendations by a veterinarian. I use the plug-ins when a new cat moves in so it feels more comfortable in a new setting, I spray the spray on product in the cat carrier a while before putting the cat in to go somewhere, and I use the plug-ins when something unusual happens at home. For example, we experienced storm damage to the exterior of the house last winter. I used Feliway while repairs were underway to keep the cat calm inside despite the noise of construction outside. We used it when a previous cat suddenly stopped using the cat box along with other changes recommended by the veternarian. These uses are all successful. I don't notice any odor from the plug-in, each jar lasts over a month, and I always keep one on hand. Highly recommended and the only product of this kind that I trust.

This was great and then at like half full it stared emitting white hot vapor from the top….. then my cat threw up 30 mins later????

I’ve used these since my girl was a kitten, per the vet recommendation. It’s INSANE how well these work!!! Like she’s a sweeter and more cuddly cat when I have these plugged. I can’t smell it. But if she’s frustrated or angry, she will go over to the outlet and take a BIG OLE sniff over the top of the feliway device. It’s hilarious!! My baby knows how to self soothe haha And if she starts kinda being a jerk to me? I check the outlet and the feliway has run out. It’s not a great value because it’s SO expensive to have one in each room. But then it’s also cost effective, on the other hand, because of the value I get - in terms of how well she acts. Any vet office I’ve been to has these in exam rooms too, which I love I think these are more effective than feliway spray form Oh and my vets have said that the other brands don’t work as well as feliway. And that the newest feliway (called Opum or something?) that the newest kind in silver branding works even better than this one.

We have 2 feral kittens that we are socializing and a 17 year old deaf cat who is not happy about it. They are separate but share a common barrier through which they can see each other. There is a diffuser in each area. Since the kittens are doing well we assume that that one is helping but we know that the one in the older cat's area is working because she stopped howling at night (as some deaf cats will do) when we put it up. Expensive but worth the money. Word of caution - at first we had a diffuser behind an electonic piano which had a plastic cover to protect it from the kittens. The plastic, unbeknownst to us, attracted the oil being diffused and the whole cover and piano were saturated with oil. Fortunately, no harm to the piano. Be sure to put them in an area that isn't covered up and where there's no plastic nearby to attract the diffused oil.
