Travelpro Maxlite 4 = Travel Success
I needed this suitcase for a 5-day trip to Palm Springs, and was pleasantly surprised by the build quality, and durability considering the price. I'm a strategic and meticulous travel packer who still overpacks somewhat, and the Maxlite 4 handled (withstood) my abuse. I ordered the largest bag I could carry-on domestically, and this bag might've even been too big for me; so its got plenty of room. I don't travel too much any more so I can't justify a fortune on travel gear. I'm on an over night with my family as we speak, both my wife and I are able to share this bag, and still keep it very tight without using the expansion zipper. One thing unique to this suitcase is the outer fabric, its kinda stretchy, like polyester adidas sweatpants, yet durable. That may be contributing to its light weight. It has pockets and an expansion zipper I'll never use. I have an ancient Swiss Gear bag which has held up for close to 10 years now, and a Delsey bag, which has been with me 5+ years. I'm happy to add the Maxlite 4 to my collection. I would buy this again, and recommend it. Among the 3 bags, the same sized Swiss Gear bag feels the toughest and most durable, and may have a bit more room, but that's splitting hairs. The Delsey is the smallest of the three, mind you they're all 22" roll boards. If they were all the same color, you might not be able to tell them apart. The stand out feature among the three bags is the collapsable handle. It has 2 height stops, which I like. the lower height stop makes it easy for me to put my messenger bag on top of the case while I'm wading through the security line. The upper stop is probably better for a taller person, or it perhaps I had a tall backpack, rather than a short and wide messenger bag. Impressed so far. Will update if the bag fails, or any parts break off. Safe travels!

Extremely high class luggage at a good price
I bought this luggage for a 9 day trip to London and Ibiza/Formentera because I wanted to go carry-on only but also have as much room to pack for two climates as I could get. This bag delivered big time, I had ample room for clothes for the trip, sandals for the beach, and even a beach towel. The outside pocket made it convenient to place my liquids bag separate from everything for security purposes. The dimensions posted on Amazon are very accurate having measured the suitcase myself. I was concerned because it just met American Airlines carry-on requirements, but it fit in the overhead compartment on an American Airlines Airbus A330 and a British Airways Embraer 190SR with room to spare (unexpanded obviously). The bag itself is extremely light but very solid, I never had to worry about crushing or other outside problems. I did not get to test it in the rain so I can't speak to that. The wheels were quiet and effective for rolling through airports, though because of its two wheel design navigating winding rope lines at airports was challenging. Spinner suitcases navigated these better but because it had plenty of handles and was fairly light I could just pick it up when needed. I didn't want a spinner purposely because the wheels add extra to the dimensions, where these wheels are nice and flush with the suitcase, so for me a very worthwhile trade-off. The suitcase also never tipped forward which was the big annoyance my wife's luggage suffered on the trip. Not only did I love having it for this long trip, but getting off one of our last flights there was an off-duty pilot in front of me wheeling the same case!

Sturdy, Quality, Ease of Use- Recommended
I took this as my only piece of luggage through a 3 week tour through Europe. I was on 6 planes and 3 trains, and it held up very well! It is lighter than most other rolling carry-ons, and the wheels were strong over many terrains including a good amount of cobblestones (if you are walking these types of streets, I recommend 2 inline wheels instead of 4 swivels). Side note- if, like me, you are traveling many places with one small piece of luggage, I highly recommend getting the Amazon Basics 4 Piece Packing Cubes (I got mine on Prime Now) they all fit perfectly in the suitcase, and I was able to take them out at each stop and use them like drawers, so I didn't have to unpack everything each time. I did roll my clothes to pack in them. Out of the 6 planes, I only had to check the suitcase once and that was due to weight rather than size. It always fit in the overhead compartments. It's relatively sleek (at least compared to my last rolling carry-on) and durable.

Great, light bag for travel...
I purchased this bag for extended travel. It worked very well. First of all, it's really light - so you're not dragging the weight of the bag along with the weight of your clothes. Second, it's surprisingly large. Here's a tip...roll your clothing. You'd be surprised how much clothing you can fit into this back if you roll them. I was gone for 2 weeks, and was able to fit everything in (did some laundry). I will have to wait on rating it's durability since I have not had it very long, but so far so good. They also make a 4-wheel version, which I passed on. This 2-wheel version has more interior room and rolls quite nicely...and better over rough terrain.

Great little travel bag!
I purchase the Travelpro Maxlite 4 for a one week trip to Arizona because I did not want to check in my bag. I did not know whether it will hold my clothes since I tend to over pack (although I always try my hardest not to)!! Well let me say that it fit everything I packed: 4 pants, at least ten countless, 2 pairs of shoes, toiletries and undergarments for a week. Granted some of the clothing was lighter since we thought Arizona would be warmer this time of year, I still had room for more! I couldn't believe how roomy it is. The outside compartment was helpful as well as the inside zippered pocket. I did not have to use the extension zipper. The Travelpro is very light and it wheeled effortlessly through the airport. It did tip over a couple of times, it could be the way I packed it, but not a big deal to me! I can't speak to how it will hold up since I only just purchased it and used it once. I will use it again for a short cruise coming up in the summer. Hope this review was helpful.

Carry-on Durability and Maneuverability at a Great Price
I packed clothing and necessities for a week in NYC into this bag, including a full suit! I did not use the expandable feature, so I could have packed even more. The fabrication and zippers are thick and solid, protecting belongings from the terrors of travel, and the main zippers are designed to accommodate TSA locks. The dimensions are perfect for carry-on, so I did not need to check the bag and wait in line at the baggage pickup. Just grab and go. This bag is very affordable. While there are a lot of cheap bags being marketed, it will be hard to match the durability of the fabric and the wheels on this bag. The wheels are slightly recessed, mounted on the sides on solid axles, not obtrusive swivels, so they will not snap off, and they do not reduce the packable space inside the bag. This bag rolls like a dream. There are many molded or riveted handles, so the bag can easily be handled and lifted from any side at any angle. No wonder airline employees prefer this brand.

Good quality, lightweight and spacious carry on
So far, the Travelpro 22" expandable seems to be a really good bag for the price. It held a lot more clothes than I thought it would and is very lightweight. The bag is definitely the right size for carry-on; had no problems fitting it in the overhead of several different types of airplanes. One feature I really like is the variable length handle. I am fairly tall and it was great to be able to pull the bag without hunching over. Time will tell how it holds up, but so far, I am very pleased with this purchase. Amazon's price was as good or better than other retailers. I was replacing a really old Hartmann bag that would have cost 4X the price of the Travelpro.

Constantly Tips Over!
I've been using this case for over a year, flying both internally in the US (More than 200k miles on Southwest) and overseas to Europe - (WOW, British Airways, Norwegian). I'm a frequent traveler and feel well qualified to judge this bag's performance. I'll start off the review by noting the case fits all overhead bins without issue & meets the carry-on requirements for the budget carriers. In addition, the quality of manufacture, hardware & materials are all of good quality with no rips, breaks or tears to report. The handle, often a weak spot for a rollaboard has also held up well, despite it's relatively lightweight construction. But while the bag checks all of the boxes for the basics, it has what is for me a fatal flaw: when heavily loaded the bag constantly wants to fall forward. The issue stems from the distance between the rear wheels and the front support feet. It's simply too short giving, it a very narrow footprint and causing it to overbalance & tip forward very easily. I've tried loading the bag with the weight at the bottom of the case but it makes no difference. As a consequence I've stopped sliding my laptop into the front pocket. For a company with as much experience as Travelpro to make such an elementary error is mystifying and it ruins what is a perfectly good suitcase. Were it not for this simple fault I'd have have no problems recommending this bag as a great value, however the tipping issue is so irritating I'm actively looking at replacements.
