Great case
This is a great case. I checked it as baggage for a three-transfer flight and felt no worries. Very sturdy, and the lock seems solid enough to prevent accidental opening. At the same time, it is very easy to carry around and fits in most cars.

GTSA-GTRDREAD guitar case for a Yamaha FGX830C
Hello, friends! I bought a GTSA-GTRDREAD guitar case for a Yamaha FGX830C acoustic guitar. The case fits this guitar very well. The guitar fits tightly in the case and does not dangle during transportation. The only thing I would like to say is that at the widest point of the body the guitar fits very tightly, right next to the case, but I think that over time the inner lining of the case will shrink and the guitar will fit more freely in the case. Considering that all Yamaha FG/FGX series guitars have the same dimensions, then I think that the case will fit very well for the FG/FGX series. Before purchasing, measure the exact dimensions of the guitar; detailed internal and external dimensions of the guitar case are available on the gatorco website. I won’t post photos of the case; there are a lot of photos on the Internet and on the gatorco website. The guitar case in person fully matches the photos on the website. The guitar case is made of high quality and protects the guitar well during transportation. If you need to transport a musical instrument, then this case will cope with this task very well. The only negative I would like to mention is the weight of the case with the guitar inside. The case, along with the musical instruments inside, is quite heavy (about 7-8 kilograms) and this can cause significant difficulties when carrying.

Just what I needed to travel with a valuable instrument!
The case is very high quality and sturdy, latches close securely, and the guitar fits tightly into the padded, velvet lined interior. The internal storage space is large and easily fit extra strings, picks, string winder, tuner and capo. I could have fit my wire cutters in too, but didn't because I wanted to use carry-on as much as possible. The case easily fit into an overhead baggage compartment, with room left for a couple backpacks or a small bag. No one seemed to mind. But if I had needed to gate check it, I would have felt comfortable that the case would protect the guitar from the handling. But not from the separation anxiety! haha The case is a little heavy, because it's sturdy, so be prepared when lugging it through the airport. But the handle is comfortable, the case is well balanced for carrying, and it has feet and is well balanced to stand on it's own, either on its side or upright. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Well made, great protection.
Dreadnought size guitar fits snugly, no moving around in the case. Very sturdy and not much heavier than a standard Martin hardshell case, but much sturdier. Bumpers protect the lower bout and extended neck rest helps to keep the neck well-protected. TSA locks nice for airplane travel, but also an excellent case for any type of travel, even back and forth to gigs. Fit my Martin D-35 and my friend's Taylor Dreadnought nicely.

Not as well designed as I hoped
This is a good idea, but I wouldn't trust this to protect an expensive guitar being checked as baggage on an airline. I feel that there are a few design flaws that could easily be implemented to make this a bomber case. 1. The plastic it's made from is a little to thin and flexes too much in the center of the body area - my concern would be something heavy sitting on top of that area, pressing into the guitar top causing damage - it needs some kind of stiffener or reinforcement there. 2. The feet are poorly designed and positioned: a) Since the case is injection molded, the feet are too - significant weight on top will collapse the feet (pics with yellow arrows) b) The feet are place at each end of the case - nothing in the middle for support - again, enough weight on top will push it down in the middle, and the way the neck is support (next item), you're likely to have a broke neck (pic with red arrows/rectangle.) 3. The neck support looks like it supports the entire length of the neck, but in reality it does not - it's only at the nut (Pic with yellow arrow/rectangle). Considering the huge unsupported gap under the case and the neck support where it is, it's likely gonna run your day if they pile tons of suitcases on top. Other than that, the guitar fits snug. Locks are protected, but I'd like to see more latches than just 3. My money is on the SKB cases - ya, twice the price and weight, but when it comes to protecting an instrument worth several grand or more, I want the best.

Case does not fit Yamaha FGX800C
If it helps anyone, this case doesn’t fit the Yamaha FGX800C dreadnought body. I measured my guitar very carefully and, based on the interior dimensions on the product page, it should have fit. However, after forcing my guitar about halfway in - and I mean forcing, it was *extremely* tight - and seeing the sides of the case bulging significantly outward, I stopped trying, so as to prevent damage to the guitar. The case is slightly too narrow at the lower bout. Besides that, the case seems well-made (though it arrived with a good ding in the top, which I was ready to overlook) and it’s lightweight. The latches could maybe be a bit more solid (they feel sort of snap-able) but that’s just an untested initial impression. Hope this helps.

Awesome Case! The case looks durable with plenty of padding on the inside. Its got a really big storage compartment for strings, picks, cloths etc.I have a Yamaha FG 820 and wasn’t sure if it would fit inside the case.At first it looked like it wouldn’t as it is a really tight fit, which is actually good as I won’t have to worry about my guitar sliding around inside the case.Turned out it fits perfectly!

I checked in an acoustic guitar for international flight in cargo hold of airplane (Japan - Europe). The case containing the acoustic guitar arrived unharmed at destination. I cannot imagine any scenario (excluding a hypothetical air crash).
