I am truly a beginner. And a complete dummy when it comes to reading directions. I'm a "show me" kind of person. But, this little book is SOOOO easy to understand & follow. It packs a large deal of great information in such a small book. I get frustrated if I have to wade thru a bunch of, what I call "filler" directions. This is straight to the point & easy to understand wording & photos. I can't recommend this book enough. Worth ever penny! It covers the basics, as it should. Bought it for mum who is 81, and she needed a refresher. She's been knitting since before I was born (and I'm 51). Once she found what she needed, she was perfect. Once she's done with, I think I will borrow it. Knitting is a good skill to have.
