The Giant Jellybean Jar (Penguin Young Readers, Level 3)

This is another one of the Step Readers that are very popular with young readers. They come in a number of steps, this one is Step 3. The story is usually done in easy chapters so that the children can move from picture books to more advanced chapter books. These books also have colorful photos for motivation purposes. They have engaging stories with characters that children will find interesting. After all, what is more interesting than giants and jellyfish? These books are great to go over such skills as rhyming, prefixes and suffixes, sentences and other beginning reading skills.

This was a cute book. About a shy boy who knew the answers to the weekly trivia question where the winner won a jar of jelly beans, but he was too shy to answer. His sister helped him become brave enough to raise his hand, and he ended up winning the grand prize jar.Perfect read for a child who is an independent reader, but it still challenges them.

Got this book for my nieces for Easter. Sent a giant jar of jelly beans to go with it so they could guess how many was in the jar. They loved it! Such a cute story!

Granddaughter likes it even though it's a little below her level.
