good purchase
Since I had previous issues with corrosive pipes, I regularly test my well water to ensure I do not have high levels of iron. These test strips are quick, easy, and affordable. Will continue to purchase. Product does not expire for 15 months.

Watch the expiration dates!
I had ordered this product a couple of years ago and found it quite useful and easy to use. As it had expired, I ordered a new one at the end of May only to find that the one I received expired at the end of May 2020. No problem, I requested a replacement and received it today. Imagine my disappointment to find that the replacement was from the exact same lot and with the exact same expiration date. This one’s going back too, but I’m going to find another product.

Doesn't test for all forms of iron
Well, this is what I get for not being a water quality engineer. These seem to do a great job at measuring Fe+2 (Ferrous iron) which is what our well contains (up to 11 ppm at certain times of the year). BUT if you have an iron filter and want to test the water post-treatment... this is not going to work. In an iron filter oxygen is introduced to convert Fe+2 to Fe+3 (Ferric iron) because that's what the ion exchange media removes from the water. So when your filter stops working (except for the conversion part) this test will indicate no iron, while in reality your water tastes funky and has a slight orange tint. You need a Total Iron test kit to see the iron levels in your water.Got one coming...

Worthless! Zero stars!!
This company offers test kits for a multitude of minerals found in water. It all looks very good until you buy a kit. Our well water has a ton of iron. This test kit, however fails to find any after repeated attempts. Worthless!,,,

but a good first approximation
Works as stated, but it is somewhat difficult to determine the shades of blue accurately. Not a definitive value, but a good first approximation.

Good product
The overall product is good. I gave it 3 stars because it's kind of hard to tell what ppm your really at. The purple colors are to close in pigment so it very difficult to see what ppm your water is really at. It come with a lot of test.
