Brilliant foot commuters or light exercise
I bought these for the noise cancellation and in a word they cancel noise brilliantly. I use them on a bus commute and also walking through a city centre, they block out a lot of noise. On a bus, even sitting at the back over the engine, with people talking etc the noise reduction makes it go away to such a low level that you can have music on low and still not hear much external noise. You will still hear some noise, I can still hear a low bass rumble of the bus engine for example when on buses but only slightly. If you want to hear for yourself just how well they do that in comparison to other brands equivalents you can buy on Amazon like Bose or Sony etc there is a YouTube channel that has a video showing the noise cancelling ability of these in various situations, a YouTube search for "DHRME anc sound samples" will find you that video, probably much better than just reading descriptions. Sound wise they sound great, you can change the way they sound with the Jabra app that let's you set up a graphic equaliser to make them sound how you want them to, or choose from some presets. How they fit is something lots of reviews comment on. I haven't had them fall out even when I had my head upside down while doing a repair on something but I don't think I would trust them not to fall out while running or cycling. Some have done that and say they are fine but while I have never had them fall out even when I tried to make them fall out, they do still feel like they could fall out easily. That perhaps sounds like a contradiction, but I can say they do stay in while walking, being on a bumpy bus ride or vigorously dancing about. They feel well made and definitely feel like a premium set of earbuds, the charging case is surprisingly small but easy to fit in a pocket even with a phone in the same pocket so are easy to carry around. The controls on the earbuds can be customised to what you prefer them to do such as swapping between noise cancelling on or off, playing a different track, etc and the case will charge by USB c lead or by wireless qi charging so that's also a plus. I've used these for about three hours non stop in one go with noise cancelling on and they didn't get close to being at low battery level so battery life is good and they have a nice physical button on each bud not a touch sensitive sensor so you don't accidentally set them doing something while putting them in your ears. They also automatically pause music or videos when a bud is removed from an ear, although you can turn this feature off using the Jabra app. Speaking of the app, its very useful so if you get these earbuds consider using the app too. Its free and allows a lot of customisation to the earbuds as well as allowing firmware updates, product registration (you get a two year warranty against water and dust if you register for it using the app) and of course the graphic equaliser. It also tells you the level of charge in the case and in each earbud, so is a good thing to use. And if you want the noise cancelling but don't want to watch a video or listen to music the app has soundscapes like a thunderstorm or white noise and a few others to listen to instead. Sometimes the app doesn't find the earbuds as soon as you put them in (the earbuds still work fine without it and your programmed button options and equaliser and noise cancelling still work) but if you want the app to find them quicker (for the soundscapes or to check battery levels for example) just turn your phones Bluetooth on and then open the app before putting the earbuds in. Overall a very good set of earbuds that are great for commuting or being in noisy environments. Edit: I bought the Comply brand tips for these and they make them fit much better. If you have a problem with them feeling loose these tips should help.

Fantastic sound
I've been a longtime Jabra headset user but was looking for something that gave me noise cancellation but in a small form factor. I wanted something that was easy to carry around in my pocket and had decent battery life. The Jabra Elite 85t ticks all the boxes for me. They also look great. My only criticism might be that they are a bit heavy when you lean forward. Might be I need to play around with the rubber ear size to find something that fits better, but, I nearly lost the left ear pod the first day I wore them when out walking. It fell out of my ear and into the road. Fortunately no drama and no car driving over it. If you can include it falling from my ear to the ground as a crash test, then they can be dropped from 6 feet onto the ground and won't break. The companion Sound+ app makes it easy to configure the sound profile for your specific ears and they have some cool white noise examples for those that want to sleep or focus. I'm also looking forward to travelling again and leaving my clunky Bose noise cancelling headphones behind. The battery lasts a decent amount of time, and is incredibly easy and fast to charge, either by cable or by placing onto a charging mat, which I have for my Samsung phone. I've heard a lot of people rave about their Apple Airpods, but I don't think they are even close to the Jabra Elite 85t in respect of how they look and the sound quality. I don't think the Jabra Elite 85t would be suitable for out and out sports purists or runners, but I've worn them to the gym, I walk in them every day, I've run a bit, I've worked out and not had any issues with the headphones. Not sure if they are waterproof, but they sit nicely in your ears so I think water exposure would be minimal. Overall, I can find little wrong with these great headphones and I would highly recommend them to friends and family and even strangers.

Compares poorly to the cheaper Elite 65t
I bought these to replace a lost pair of Jabra Elite 65t headphones, which is (like every Jabra product I've ever owned) frankly excellent. However, I give the 85t a 1* rating because they are simply not better than the 65t on any measure, despite being newer and costing somewhat more. I thought I was treating myself, but when I found my 65t and compared side-by-side, I realised I'd been duped. The problem is the fit... the 85t has oval ear pieces which just don't fit, while the 65t has round ear pieces. This causes three big issues: 1. The 85t does not stay in the ear like the 65t did. I would happily wear the 65t cycling, and have never had one fall out. I would not trust the 85t to stay in the ears. 2. Even with ANC on the 85t, it is nowhere near as good at blocking background noise compared to the passive noise cancellation of the 65t. (For context, I struggle to hear an audible story while at the gym using the 85t, but have no problems with the 65t). 3. While both headphones in "hearthrough" mode are useless when cycling (because of wind noise), the 85t also creates wind noise when cycling in ANC mode, while the passive noise cancellation of the 65t does not. We still need to consider the sound quality. Possibly the 85t is better sound when indoors, but I can't really tell the difference. And the microphone quality: both are fairly poor, but people complain more when I'm using the 85t then they do when I'm using the 65t. Sorry, Jabra -- I am a fan and bought and used many of your products, but the 85t is not a premium product. I'm past the 30 day return window, so I'll chalk this up to trusting you and not bothering to read reviews.

Great Headphones
I have been using the 85t headphones for just over a week now. When they arrived, I could tell from the box that they are a quality product and a lot of thought had gone into the product and the packaging. The set up was simple and they connected to my phone really quickly. I love the fit feature, which through the app allows you to find the best size buds to use. The Noise cancellation is good and gets better the longer you wear them. I like that taking one out causes the audio to pause and it continues playing as you put it back in. The smart feature though is hear through, it does affect battery life, however it’s great when out walking and you want to be more aware of traffic etc. Or if you’re just nosey like me and want to be able to hear what people are saying without being obvious. The battery life is good, I’ve not had to charge them using the cable or wirelessly since the first charge. I’ve been using them for roughly 2-3 hours a day as a guide. In terms of using them out and about I have taken them on a few walks and never felt like I need to adjust them or they were falling out. I haven’t used them when out on my bike yet, as I wanted to make sure they felt secure first. I have used the find my jabra feature in the app already, as I couldn’t find them one morning. The case had fallen out of my pocket and they had gone down the sofa. It was a great relief to know they were in the house. They are a definite upgrade on the 75t, which were great but lacked wireless charging and a few other little features. The touch controls still take a little getting used to. I would definitely recommend them though, if you’re looking for your first pair of wireless ear buds or looking to upgrade from an older pair.

Jabra Elite 85T - The ones with actual adjustable ANC
Going back to an open-space office where everyone is still on Teams calls after 2 years of working from home has been challenging, making ANC headphones necessary. Disappointed with the terrible and unreliable experience of using my AirPods Pro on Windows for Microsoft's Teams calls, I sought to find some decent sounding wireless active noise-cancelling headphones with cross-platform Bluetooth multipoint support. I finally settled on the Jabra Elite 85Ts because of their superior balanced sound, semi-open ear design with all-day comfort, and seamless wireless access for music, videos and calls with adjustable ANC across ALL of my devices (iOS, Windows and macOS). Having tried the Elite 75T, Elite 85T and the Elite 7 Pro, for my ears, the 85Ts are louder, and the soundstage is more expansive, refined, and balanced. The 85Ts offer punchy, lusciously deep bass without needing the volume all the way up. With the 85Ts, I can hear bits of songs that I cannot on the Elite 75T and Elite 7 Pro. A good example is Billy Eilish's "Bad Guy" -- her whispers and sighs can be heard all around my head and are goosebump-inducing. Both the Elite 75T and 7 Pro supposedly have ANC on board. If they do, it's hardly noticeable where on the Elite 85Ts, it is. If I go into the Sound+ app and adjust it, I can immediately hear it reflected in my ears. Not as good as AirPods Pro, but close. It's almost like on the Elite 75t, and Elite 7 Pro that ANC was an afterthought supposedly addressed with a firmware change ... oh wait :) The other thing I like about the Elite 85t is the semi-open ear design which reduces the clogged/pressurised feeling you get from the 75T and 7 Pro. This seal is required to achieve volume and bass; without it you get a weak tinny sound. In the 85Ts, this is achieved with larger drivers, while outside noise is blocked via actual ANC. Less suction required! Similar to the AirPods Pro, this semi-open ear design allows me to wear the 85Ts comfortably for several hours without taking them out. It's also nice to walk around and breathe without hearing it reverberate in my head! In addition, the Sidetone feature, which is customisable from the Sound+ app, is also very effective. I can hear myself speak when I'm on calls and don’t feel like I’m in a well. Multipoint or "handoff" is something I've enjoyed across my Apple devices but never cross-OS between Apple and Windows until now. Multipoint functionality allows me to seamlessly switch between two devices, in my case, an iPhone and a Windows PC. For example, listening to music or taking calls on my iPhone. As soon as a Teams call comes in on my laptop, I pause the music and immediately pick it up on the PC. No disconnecting and reconnecting is required. It works really well. To complete the seamless experience, do yourself a favour and invest in the Jabra Link 370/380 adapter, making the process even better by maintaining crystal clear audio and functionality. You can use the buttons on the earbuds to control medial playback, volume and answer/hangup, and mute/unmute Team calls on your laptop. Totally worth it. I wanted the newer, smaller, sleeker Elite 7 Pros with longer battery life to offer superior sound over the slightly older 85T's, but they don't for my ears. The Jabra Elite 85ts reign supreme and even sound better than my AirPods Pro for many songs.

Impressive earbuds for the price I paid…but now UPDATED
Update April 2024 Unfortunately a couple of issues have arisen recently with my 85T’s resulting in downgrading to 3 Stars. A few months ago the left earbud stopped charging to 100%. And a couple of weeks ago a kind of ‘feedback’ noise became audible in the right earbud when set to hear through or ANC. Not when set to ‘off’. Support suggestions were prompt, but amounted only to resetting the earbuds and reinstalling firmware, but without resolving the issue. Being about 10 months out of warranty Jabra support understandably wouldn’t replace them but did offer a 30% reduction against a new purchase. After researching I opted for Jabra Elite 8 Active. However, their subsequent offer was based on an outdated £199.99 price, not the £149.99 price advertised on their own and other leading sites. Total cop out. Not impressed. Particularly when I feel sure that my issues are related to Jabra firmware updates that are negatively impacting my older 85T’s. =========== I have been looking for a good set of true wireless earbuds for quite a while, primarily to use at the gym, so important that they sound good, feel secure and have some level of water resistance. After lots of research, the Jabra Elite 85T were my choice. Highly rated on lots of review sites and at a really great price - I paid just over £144 for the Titanium Black variation. And so far I have been very pleased with them overall. I should point out that these are my second set of Jabra Elite 85T earbuds. My first set presented several set up issues that I was unhappy about and suggested to me that they were faulty. Amazon return and refund the next day was quibble free and I ordered a new set. I’m pleased to say the new Jabra Elite 85Ts I ordered have been everything I had hoped for. Set up was seamless and trouble free, and the app is great, allowing lots of customisation. So far I’ve used them in my garden a few times and also during a few sessions at the gym sessions. The sound quality has been great - maybe not the very best I’ve heard but clear and nicely balanced - and they feel secure. That said, my gym sessions don’t include vigorous exercises or running although I have no reason to think they wouldn’t be fine. Active Noise Cancellation is easily activated although not as effective as some have reported. That said, there is a clear difference between ANC being on or off…just that I can still hear a degree of background noise that I expected not to. I got a phone call while pottering about in the garden so a great opportunity to test out that feature of the earbuds. After a single press of the earbud I was able to answer my call and chat. Initially the other party said they couldn’t hear me very well…as if I was a long way off….although OK once I sat down. The earbuds adjusting to me receiving a call for the first time…? Time will tell but not a good first experience. Battery life was a factor in my choice and so far has been excellent. Certainly seems to be living up to the hype. The carry/charging case the earbuds fit snugly into is remarkably small and compact. Incredible feat of design to have developed something so tiny yet so effective. Not tried the wireless charging capability yet but another great feature. So in conclusion, although it’s early days, I’ve been very pleased with the Jabra Elite 85T earbuds for the price I paid. Great sound quality, they feel secure and are suitable for use in the gym. The carry case is compact and will fit into the smallest pocket. Battery life is excellent and the Sound+ app presents a variety of useful features including customisation. As for ANC, good but not great, in my opinion, and the jury is out on using them for a phone call.

Elite 85t The Elite ANC King.
I had this great opportunity to test Jabra Elite 75t. So before I had a first go with new Elite 85t I had some expectations. I was absolutely pleased with the 75t's. The 85t's on the paper been very promising. True ANC, bigger 12mm driver, wireless charging as a standard. I expected bigger sound, better ANC experience. But my assumptions been wrong in terms of sound reproductions. The Elite 75t are known as a bit boomy. Sound signature for me was excellent, after few tweaks in Sound plus app everyone could adjust the level of bass to his preferences. With bigger 12mm driver I thought that the sound will even bigger, even more bass. What I actually found was more clarity, more details, more mature signature, wider soundstage, surprisingly less bass out of the box, but that was very positive for me. It's the next level comparing with previous model. Next thing was the new shape of the earplugs tips. I was used to the 75t's. They fit great, deep in the ear canal. Perfect for any sport activities, running, exercising you name it. New shape of the ear tips in Elite 85t doesn't get as deep as the 75t's. Initially I was a bit scared that they will drop off my ear. But I can say for sure now - the new shape seat in ear canal more gentle, less fatigue for long listening session - but still confident for any sport activities. I run, jump with skipping rope - no problems whatsoever. Additional two sets of tips in two sizes will be handy for anyone with bigger or smaller ear canals to get perfect fitting. The ANC. That's a game changer for me comparing any different top brands of true wireless earbuds. You can adjust level of noise cancelling for your preference with Sound plus app. That's I think ,the strongest point of new Elite 85t. Phone conversation on highest level even in very loud environment thanks to ANC. Wireless charging allows you to top up batteries quickly when needed. For me new Elite 85t are the best true ANC earbuds at this moment. It's the mature version of predecessor Elite 75t with many small and big improvements which makes the perfect companion on the go.

Brilliant true wireless earbuds
I bought these two months ago as my first pair of true wireless earbuds. Previously I was using a wired pair of Bose QuietComfort QC20 in ear noise cancelling buds and I thought they were excellent. The noise cancelling was very good. Well the Jabra 85t smash those on both noise cancelling and audio quality, really taking them to a new level. With the maximum ANC selected, you really can feel very isolated and detached from your surroundings. While walking you cannot hear your feet and vehicle and other noises are very well suppressed. Surrounding speech is barely audible. Wind noise is likewise very suppressed, only being heard when it is unrealistically strong. High pitched noises like birdsong just break through. This is all so much better than the Bose managed. One press of the left ear can enable HearThrough mode which makes conversation vey easy. This doesn't interrupt music playing though. The Jabra Sound+ App is excellent giving 5 levels of control over both the ANC and HearThrough modes, allowing you to select just how much ambient sound you want to hear. Sound+ also allows you to control how the left and right switches operate. You can define moments for different listening situations and store configurations for each of those. The degree of programmability is excellent. I was concerned about how well these would be retained in ear but I needn't have been. You have to select the correct sized tip but I do like the oval shapes - they feel much more natural. Once selected the correct ones just feel very positive. I have never had one fall out except once while taking a fleece off over my head while wearing the Jabra's - stupid really. I don't use them for jogging though. The 85t's give well over five hours of real life ANC listening and the charging case allows up to four charges before needing to be recharged, which can either be with USB-C or using wireless charging. Again excellent. They will turn themselves off when not in use which saves battery further. I was also concerned how the bluetooth 5.1 would work on calls but again this seems to work really well. I haven't had complaints about call quality. Overall the Jabra 85t's are a most impressive pair of true wireless buds and I would highly recommend them.
