As a detailing professional with over a decade of experience, I’ve cycled through countless compounds in search of that perfect blend of cut, finish, and ease of use. The RUPES D-A Coarse High Performance Cut has genuinely impressed me on all fronts—especially when paired with a RUPES D-A polisher. Cutting Power (5/5): This compound has serious bite. It removes moderate-to-heavy defects like swirls, oxidation, and sanding marks with minimal effort. When used with a blue D-A coarse pad, I was able to correct hard clear coats (think German paints) efficiently while avoiding excess heat buildup. Finish Quality (4.5/5): For a heavy-cut compound, the finish is surprisingly refined. In many cases, I didn’t need to follow with a secondary polish on daily drivers. On softer paints or show cars, I’d still recommend a final polish for perfection—but the time savings here is notable. Dusting and Cleanup (5/5): RUPES nailed the dust control. Even during longer polishing cycles, I experienced virtually no airborne dust. Wipe-off is effortless, leaving behind a residue-free surface that makes inspecting your work simple and accurate. User Experience (5/5): The D-A formulation is smooth, consistent, and designed for long polishing cycles without drying out. It plays extremely well with both microfiber and foam pads on dual-action machines—ideal for pros and advanced enthusiasts alike. This is the best cutting compound I have ever used. Use it with the Rupes blue pad and the results are amazing. For most applications, I use just this compound and pad combo and nothing else. I have buffed scratches on a brand new, black, Toyotas leaving no swirl marks (I have been doing this for 21 years, don’t do this for your first attempt). Anyone who buffs cars for a living will tell you that you can swirl a black Toyota by breathing on it (a bit dramatic, but you get my point). I have buffed scratches that are not going away (meaning you can feel them with your fingernail) and you would have difficulty finding them if you didn’t already know where they had been. The Rupes system makes buffing almost fool proof. If you own a shop and are hiring new people, the learning curve is dramatically reduced. You can pretty much have someone doing decent work in one day. I would go so far as to say that with the Rupes system I can remove any scratch that can be wet sanded out. For anyone looking to do this for the first time, while the possibility of burning paint is reduced, it can be done. The long and short is if you are skilled at buffing and have not tried this system, it’s a game changer. You will become known as the buffing guru.

Way better than the 3M Perfect-it line I've used for years! Gets through the buffing process in less than a 3rd of the time with better results. The picture attached is just 1 run of the DA Course with a soft foam pad on speed level 3 of 6. Ive used the Rupes on 3 vehicles now buffing a fresh paint job, buffing out an oem paint job and doing paint correction/scratch removal with nothing but amazement for how fast it gives me a great result! Ill never buy another brand compound again!

I've been in the trade for 20+ years and have tired alot of products.. I've found some favorites and some horrible ones but this is in the top 3. I love this stuff so much for cutting everyday haze, snow brush marks, medium to light scuff marks out of paint. Pair with a wool or microfiber pad and you will be blown away. Put it on a da and you won't want to go back to what ever you were using before. Hit quick with their fine polish after and you will get amazing results without having to work the crap out of the material
