Love the Large Size and Durable Handles
This is a very nice Quality Oval Casserole Dish. The Color is classic and will be in style for years. I love that you can start on the stove top and transfer to the oven. It's great to be able to use the lid or leave it off. Great Durable handles that make it easy to transfer in and out of the oven. Great for large Roasts, Soups or Stews!

A Treat to Use in Any Kitchen
There's no way that I was going to spend the $$$ for a glazed Dutch Oven from Le Creuset or Staub. At a fraction of the price, you get a finely made and versatile cooking vessel from a company with more than 100 years of experience. From a whole chicken, to briskets to soups, our little red oven has done the job. If you've never used one, it takes some time to figure out how it will cook in your oven or stovetop. And it is not light. If your a lightweight cookware household, be prepared to always use two hands. Especially with a few pounds of stew meat! My only complaint is that the proximity to med-high/high heat seems to have altered the red color to become a lot more burgundy. I assume that this is just normal with age. Make sure you have some good silicon grips or handle holders nearby because this thing holds heat for a long time. It's not hard to clean, but TBH, it's not as easy as most of the other things in our kitchen. Just know that you will need a little more patience so not to ruin the ceramic interior or exteriors. Absolutely recommend anyone looking for a Dutch Oven to give this jem a try.

Chips easily but cooks well
I had to return the first one because it arrived chipped. I was so disappointed. Then the next one arrived and the cover does not fit as securely as if should but I kept it. After I used it the first time there was a chip in the handle. I don’t know how this happened because I’ve been so careful and carefully hand washed it. But the reviews said that. It cooks really well though. I loved using it. I’ve used it twice. Once for a Dutch oven lasagne and second for a beef roast. The pot is really heavy so it is difficult to get into the oven if you have the oven under the stove. If I could afford the le creuset I would have those instead.

MADE IN CHINA!!!
Received today. Color (red) not the same as the 5 qt round one we purchased a couple of years ago. BEWARE: Its made in China!!!! We purchase Lodge products because they're an American company and their products are made in America. I guess not all of them are. To bad. Considering returning.

Lodge 7qt Dutch Oven is a great value and goes the distance
My wife is the Queen of Yum and my girth is evidence. We love this large Lodge Dutch Oven cast iron for cooking and this pot is a favorite in the kitchen tool shed. The red color on this is totally rocking and screams were in business while she’s braising the meet for a pot roast (cooked yesterday) and when that comes out of hiding in the stove, we know what’s coming out of it. yum! It looks great, the color is great, the white enamel interior is holding up well, hasn’t chipped anywhere and we aren’t even the most careful people. These are heavy pots when loaded, so it is something the wife has to call me in for loading into and retrieving from stove when it’s full of goodness. This Lodge 7 Quart Enameled Cast Iron Oval Dutch Oven is a prized kitchen tool. I’m actually writing this long after purchase and many uses. Her last delicious pot roast was a reminder to write this review, so it still looks as good as the day we bought it.

I baught this 7qt DO thinking I may use it for when I am making a turkey or duck. But instead I am using it for my sourdough bread baking. It is a perfect size for a big loaf.

I have ordered the pot as a Christmas gift. It chipped immediately on a first use, then enamel is coming off the bottom just from sitting on the stove and the lid edge is rusting from washing it. I regret this purchase.
