This is definitely a COOL mat - very cool! When I opened the package, I thought there were ice cubes packed in it!!! My cat sleeps very hot, so I have had another cooling bed for him with smooth surface and a pillowed edge all around. He LOVES that one. So, I thought I'd get this one to put in his cat tower. He hasn't yet become comfortable with it, however. I'm still waiting. But I believe he will become used to the patterning and puffy surface eventually. It is VERY cool to the touch and that's what he will like sooner or later. Maybe in the summer.

Yorkie approved. I had to replace the gel one i had after it got mold, she had a pee accident on it and this even absorbed and washed out well. It’s been hot in nyc and she learned to lay on it as its just nice and cooler than her bed or rug. It’s not a cold mat, but she likes fabric and this provides a comfortable option when she’s feeling hot

Definitely feels cool to the touch but it's very thin. My mistake was ordering the smallest size for our dogs. Even though they are Poms, I should've sized up. We only ordered one to start to see if either dog would even use it - so far both have laid their heads on it a couple times. However, they seem to like to scratch at it more (and it snags easy). Would probably order a size up and see if it works any better. The small size does fit perfectly in their crates.

I have bought this in the past but I like the upgrade the company made with the non slip bottom. The top is so cool to the touch! My cat likes it!

This did not work out well for my cats this summer. It must remain damp to be cooling otherwise it's just another mat. I thought it would be a less fungal experience but it was pretty nasty. Maybe better with some kind of liner on top of it but you can do that with a towel.

Our power was going to be shut off for a pole replacement on a day that was going to be 105 so I was very worried my little dog would overheat in the house. This is great because it doesn't use ice or anything so I didn't need to worry about my floors. It's a very thin, lightweight material. I havent washed it yet but like that it's washable because my dog has severe anxiety and marks absolutely everything so I knew he would be marking this as he does his bed. It stays cool but not so cold that it would be a problem for him to be on it all the time. It did the job the day I needed it and now on hot days I find him sprawled on his back laying on it. It feels similar to a silky pillowcase and I got the smallest one as my dog is under 5lbs and it's a perfect size for him.

I was skeptical, I won’t deny it. My dog gets so warm, he constantly looks for cooler places to lie down. I read reviews and crossed my fingers. The mat came today, and my dog took to it instantly. Yes, it’s thin, not padded as other reviewers noted, but in searching for cool spots my dog usually lies directly on the floor, so that wasn’t an issue. I put it on the floor and he went right to it and lay down, where he miraculously stayed for almost an hour. He is a lap dog, but after a few minutes he usually has to leave my lap. The picture shows him as he has been for the last half hour. My legs are warm from his body heat, but he is comfy as can be. This product is worth its weight in gold as far as we are concerned!

I got 2 different cooling mats for my porch cat. My porch faces west and gets full sun in the afternoon/evening hours. When the sun is beating on the mat, neither of the mats were cool. Not burning hot, but definitely not cool either. But once the sun goes down, even with a hot summer night, the cooling pad feels great. Even leaning my hand on it for a while, the pad still felt nice and cool. Kitty liked it. Not sure if the bottom is waterproof as advertised. This was the better of the two mats I bought. I was bigger too. But I kept them both for different spots. On the downside, the delivery was significantly slower on this pad versus the other one I bought, which came 2 days Prime. So, 1 star off for it not working in the sun and the slow delivery.

It’s a very thin, light blanket. The backside is slippery so it does slide if it’s on a hard surface. It’s looks and feels cheap. But my dogs seem to love it so it works, plus it’s priced well.
