Good, robust bilge pump for my narrowboat. Does what it's supposed to do. Can't say more.

Our boat started taking on water due to an engine issue while on the lake and the original bilge pump began working but then stopped. It began working again and was able to empty the bilge but I no longer trusted it. This is the updated version of the Rule 800GPH pump (20RM) that was originally in the boat from the factory. It installed perfectly and when tested in the driveway it pumps water well. The price is reasonable for what it is and hopefully it holds up better than the old version.

Got my new pump to replace a 20 year old Rule that had something broken inside and sometimes refuses to turn on. Wired the exact same way - brown to positive and black to negative - and the pump turns on, but doesn't pump water out. I reversed the connectors at the battery, and now the pump turns on and does pump the water out of the bilge. So it appears that on this particular pump I received, the wires were inverted at the factory. Pretty disappointing for such a basic thing. I mean, it only has 2 wires. Now I have to remove it from the boat and send it back and get another one, hoping it won't be from the same batch and have the same problem. What a pain.

great little pump the only reason I didn't rate the longevity high I didn't have it long enough to say
