So far so good
I’m halfway done installing these and so far so good. It comes with only 6 lag bolts. Probably need to go with 8. The bolts that hold the arm to the ladder are smaller in diameter than the ones I replaced, but I think they will hold it just fine. If I wanted to I could use the old ones and drill the hole in the arm out a little. That’s my only gripe 2 gripes. The brand I was replacing was impossible to find replacement parts for. This works so far.

Direct replacement
I have a W2210 attic ladder from the 1990’s. These were a direct replacement. I drilled out the rivets securing the original arms, prayed out the nail in the 4th hole and bolted these in place with the lag screws provided. It was quick and easy.

Cheap, useless, poorly manufactured product
Total failure. On opening the box, the arms wrestle too tightly held together with pop rivets and were VERY difficult to open. The pop rivets on the mount were too lose and the bracket wobbled. After (finally) mounting the arm to the frame, and getting the springs connected, on the first trial the arm popped loose from the mount and was therefore useless. Really, really cheap manufacturing that did not hold up to minimal standards. Do not waste your money. I went to Home Depot and bought a new Louisville ladder and mounted a whole new ladder to the frame. Works great and unlike older attic ladders uses gas pistons to hold the ladder in place and th lower and retract, with arms that are much easier to control. If I could have given zero starts I would have done so.

Cheap and weak
The zinc is so thin and cheap that when lifting the ladder, the arms naturally bow outward instead bending at the hinge. I have to push the arms back in line to get them to operate properly. I understand a manufacturer wanting to save money, but when making a product that needs to handle some weight, this isn't the way. Also came with only 6 of the 8 lag bolts needed.
