Excellent tablet at a very affordable price point
I replaced a broken Acer Iconia One 7 with this Galaxy A7 Tab and they are in a different league in both build quality and performance. The high definition screen on this Samsung is stunning and the speakers pack a very decent punch. The Atmos surround effect is nice through the quad speakers and the sample music track that comes on the tablet shows the effect off really well. The speakers fire out from the edge so you can use it on any surface without muffling the sound. There's two different app stores on the tablet because it's got both Google Play and Samsung's own app store. In the Samsung one there's a plethora of exclusive offers and free apps for the tablet. Battery life seems great so far too, it is quite large though so takes some time to charge with the supplied adaptor. I may try my Anker Qualcomm certified quick charge adaptor with it next time. There was quite a lot of updates for the tablet to install after setting it up, including an Android 10 security patch for Android released in December 2020. The Samsung Home screen is okay but I wish they'd offer a scrambled PIN login screen like LineageOS features. Also, in landscape mode the login number pad is a little uncomfortably small on the screen. I have tried sending this information to Samsung but won't hold my breath over them acting on it. Material wise, it's an all metal chassis and feels weighty but is comfortable to hold because it is so thin. I have a JML Pill-O-Pad which I have been using it on though and it fits on that perfectly. The only minor annoyance is the MicroSD card slot is next to redundant for anything other than portable media storage (music, video, photo etc. from PC and tablet content backup using Samsung Switch). You cannot format it as internal storage, Samsung have set the tablet up to prevent this. With 32GB (around 10GB of which is used by the operating system) it means you will eventually have to be a little selective over what apps, downloaded movies, books etc. you keep on the tablet.

Great tablet & so far, fantastic value for money
A great tablet & easy to use once it's set up. I doubt many people of my age would have been able to set this up from new to have it all set up to get the full potential from the tablet. My daughter set it up for me & she stated people with limited knowledge of technology devices would have had difficulties initially setting it up. I think she said there are still some settings she wanted to be able to look at fully, we just didnt have enough time when we were with her. A very nice tablet though & when lockdown ends, I'm looking forward to see how many hotspots it can pick up so it always has access to the Internet, if I can remember how to go to hotspots 😄 Good value for money so far & great battery life. It's ideal for what I want it to do during the day & to be able to talk it to read from it at night. My other devices blinded my wife as they lit the whole room up to have enough brightness so I could still see the screen to read at night.

Good but could be better
I bought this and waited until I had used it for a few weeks. I have Samsung phones so this was my first time trying a Samsung tablet. It is handy as it works excactly like the phone to go back and clost items. There is only one issue I find with the tablet. when the wifi is on say if you are watching a programme or a movie the battery drains so fast. When I picked it up last night battery was fully. I watched two 40 min episodes and by the time I had finished the second the battery was down to 15% Very disappointing. But if the wifi is turned off the battery live is very good so if you are using it to watch movies, tv shoes I would recommend you download them and watch them when wifi is swithed off to preserve your battery life. On the plus side the screen resolution is superb. THe back key can be a bit slow or takes a few swipes to get to go back but if you are used to samsung phones you will know what to do. I had previously bought a Huaweii Tablet whose battery life was better with wifi but had an issue using Netflix. To view a programe you had to someimes shut out of Netflix to go back in to be able to access the programme. No such problems with the Samsung. It is a very good tablet, fast and nice feel but just watch out on the battery life if watching streaming

Ideal for me, nice size screen
This is the first tablet I have even owed that's not a Kindle Fire. I wanted the new Fire 10 for it's larger screen, but due to finances I had to settle with something else. I goggled the top 10 tablets of 2023 and this A7 was number 3 in that list due to it's price and specs. The A8 was number 2. I'm not really one for games, so didn't need the bells and whistles for that aspect, I mainly listen to music, watch boxsets or the odd film, or listen to podcasts while I'm cross stitching, lol. It's also useful for marking of charts through pattern keeper. I have it attached to my Lowery Stand via the chart holder attachment and my own custom made chart board. For me this is ideal, the larger screen is a godsend, the old Fire being the 7 inch one. The size fits perfectly on my setup, it has a headphone port which for me is essential as well, as my headphones aren't bluetooth and I'm also picky about my headphones, it's hard to find a pair that doesn't hurt my ears - the pair I use are wired so I needed the port. At the time of purchase it was on sale, the price should have been £220, if that was the case I wouldn't have been able to afford it, so the timing for the sale was just right, lol. It's updated itself to Android 12 along with a few pre-installed apps which I've just left on anyway, like Netflix which I have an account and Spotify which I use for my podcasts. I installed Disney+ and Amazon Prime through the Play store with no problems (all this is new to me, lol) and the one game I do play odd occasions, Hidden City. The tablet is very fast compared to the Fire, I'm usually waiting for it to load stuff, or the sound like skips sometimes, but with this A7 I have had no such problems. For my own personal requirements, I couldn't be happier with this tablet. I haven't used it to it's full potential, I haven't had it long and still finding my way around, like I said I've never had a tablet like this before, but I've installed a micro card from the old Fire to the A7, this just wanted to be formatted and away it went and it's also capable of linking to your phone so you can call and send texts on it - this is probably old news to some, but I didn't know you could do that, lol. Not like I would use that function, but impressed it's there, lol. So 5 stars here from me and I would highly recommend to others.

Oh, yea, great
Sound and picture quality, exceptional, you should never require full brightness or volume. I bought an A10 on the strength of its positive reviews and was disappointed in its performance or should I say lack of it. This Tab A7 is way better which shows in the speed of loading and using apps, roughly the same as my 2-year-old iPad. Regarding the screen brightness, the out of the box experience could make you feel you have a faulty machine as the brightness is set very low. It may be an idea to ‘skip’ through the setup process, set display level and then you will be able to see what you are doing. Having said that, once working it is a delight. The first tablet I bought (many years ago) was a Samsung 8” which although I had to take it apart, disconnect/reconnect the battery, still works well. If you are not a fan onscreen buttons, i.e., back, home and recent, there a couple of other gesture options, like swiping from the left, right or up, my preference. Great tablet, running Android 10, yep, I’m happy with it.
