Stonemaier Games Viticulture: Essential Edition Board Game|Multicolor - 13 Years and Up

One of the most well-balanced and structured board game, with heavy reliance on strategy. The build quality and graphics are excellent. The board map design could be better, but the overall gameplay has no drawbacks. Although quite complicated with a learning curve, the unique gameplay makes it well worth learning and it flows quite smoothly once you get used to it. Good enough for an evening of family fun. Smart enough to involve a variety of players. And you can make teams if it feels too complicated. For me, it’s good value for money for the quality and uniqueness of gameplay.

I've had my eye on the Essential Edition ever since it was released, in 2015. Since I bought it, I have played the physical copy 4 times is solo mode, as well as played a digital version, in online multiplayer. The components for this game are top quality. The board and rulebook have what I believe is a linen finish. The art of actions on the board is an excellent touch. The cards are flexible and durable, and the print is clear. The pieces/tokens have a slight heft to them and the colours are vivid and lasting. The game is essentially a worker placement game, but it has been designed such that the theme, running a vineyard and winery, is strongly supported by the gameplay. I personally enjoy games that have a good theme with integrated mechanics, so this is a shoe-in for me.

Viticulture is a classic and a must have in every board gamer's collection. Not much to say there. The product is original, incredibly well packaged and arrived in perfect condition.

Excellent Quality Board Game and perfect for more than 5 Players. The quality of the Individual board is great, even the small meepel tokens are of good quality. Rule book is easy to read and understand, It wont take more than 20 min to teach anyone this game. Only one negative thing, I found the board game size small. The entire board game should have been Bigger by around 20-30 %. The individual boards could have been bigger if not the main board cause most of the game is played on the individual boards.

Fantastic Rulebook. Terms explained on back cover.These points are often overlooked but very important. Also: Art work beautiful. Solid game, scales well w/player count. You need to plan ahead and it really is a decent game, the best in years. This edition is the best, and it is finally a worker placement game that I actually like. I played the tuscany + essential and did not like that very much. It feels "finished", instead of others that feel incomplete and are shouting for expansions. Compared to other wine board games it is simpler than Vinhos and less cruel than grand cru. It actually teaches how wine is produced. For kids however it is not very spectacular, would play it with intelligent adults, that may or may not like wine. Oh and did I mention you can play it solo against the AI of the game?

Lovely production, good worker placement mechanics and very accesible. Highly recommended for medium-lightweight game.

Viticulture es un juego de 1-6 jugadores tipo Worker Placement/Posicionamiento de Trabajadores, en donde cada jugador maneja una finca enfocada en la realización de vinos. En esta puedes plantar uvas, cosecharlas y convertirlas en vinos para llenar contratos que te den puntos de victoria, entrenar trabajadores, recibir visitantes y construir edificios que te permitan obtener mayores beneficios. Los jugadores compiten por colocar sus trabajadores antes que otros jugadores en los espacios asignados por el tablero para realizar ciertas acciones y recibir bonus. Pros. - Componentes. Los componentes del juego (cartas, tokens, tableros) son de la máxima calidad y producción. - Soporte de la Compañía. Mi juego llego con un componente roto en el traslado de Amazon y la compañía que realizó el juego (Stonemaier Games) me envío el remplazo del componente sin costo alguno hasta México. - Estético. Visualmente es un juego hermoso. - Estratégico. El juego te da opciones para que pienses en las múltiples acciones que necesitar realizar para mejorar tu finca y conseguir producir más vinos, constantemente tienes que pensar en que es lo que harás para tus próximos turnos y en como adaptar tu estrategia para conseguir puntos de victoria. - Complejidad adecuada. El juego no es ligero, pero para nada es pesado. La inclusión del trabajador Grande permite realizar acciones aún cuando los espacios estén ocupados. La dirección del mismo es sencilla de captar y representa un buen inicio para jugadores nuevos en este tipo de mecánicas. - Opción Solitario. El juego puede jugarse en solitario con mecánicas similares y tratando de obtener más de 20 puntos en cierto numero de rondas, además de un pequeño modo 'campaña' para cumplir escenarios con ligeras variaciones en las condiciones del juego solitario. Neutro - Duración. El juego tiene aproximadamente una duración de 30 min. por persona (e.g. 3 jugadores = 1hr30min) - Numero de jugadores. El punto ideal parece ser 4 jugadores. Con 3 jugadores no existen casi bloqueos en el espacio, con 2 no hay bonus en las acciones, con 5 a 6 puede alargarse demasiado. - Idioma. El juego tiene una dependencia intermedia del idioma ingles. Principalmente las cartas de visitante tienen efectos que se requieren comprender para jugarse. No es complejo y tiene iconos que facilitan el entender pero puede ser necesaria una comprensión básica. Contras - Suerte de las cartas. El juego puede ser determinado en gran medida por las cartas de visitante que salen al azar. ----- El juego es muy bueno por si solo, sin embargo, cuenta con una expansión (Tuscany) que aumenta el numero de rutas posibles para hacerse con puntos de victoria y otorga la posibilidad de seguir estrategias completamente distintas.
