Worth the effort
Worked great for 2009 CRV. Was a lot of work removing the snap ring and working in a limited space but I think it’s worth the money I saved. Longevity is yet to be known but everything fit perfectly and seems to be of good quality.

Longevity uncertain, but these appear to be working well.
We hvae the same AC compressor on two vehicles here, and as luck would have it, we had one of them fail back in mid April, and the other just two weeks ago during our hot/humid streak of weather. (Thankfully we have a spare car with AC!) Installing these was a little bit tricky but, on a third generation CR-V, the clutches can be replaced by unmounting the compressor and repositioning it to sit at an angle where you can reach it from beneath the vehicle. Unmounting and repositioning the compressor actually takes a lot longer than replacing the clutch! While you can do most of the work with a metric socket set and extensions, you may also need a 3-jaw puller to get the pulley off. You will, however, need long Circlip pliers to get the two retaining rings out of the center of the compressor (which old the pulley and coil on). For both replacements, I ended up using only one of the shims. (You will need a feeler gauge to check the gap between the armature and pulley.) As our issue with these compressors was the coil failing (a repeat of the same issue we had with these in 2017 and 2018), the AC clutch coil relay is most likely burned out as well. Just replace it. I bought a WVE (NTK) relay, part number 1R2085, for about $9. BUT if you have something other than a third-gen CR-V (2007-2011), you will need to look up the correct relay part number before ordering. The dealer quoted $1,950 to replace the AC compressor (up from the $1,060 we paid in 2018!!). For $70 each in parts (this clutch/coil kit, plus the relay), I had both vehicles back on the road with an afternoon's worth of work. Time will tell how long these coils last, but even if they last only a couple of years, we're still ahead on cost!

Nice quality parts but not for the inexperienced
My 2010 CR-V was starting to have intermittent A/C issues where it would cut out after 15 minutes on 90F+ days. I followed Honda TSB 12-072 for diagnosis and repair instructions and found that my clutch was very worn with ridges and was just out of spec enough that the coil wouldn't be able to engage the clutch when it warmed up. The field coil still tested good so I only replaced the clutch. A nice pair of snap ring pliers is an absolute must since the rings open very wide and are in a tight spot. You'll also need a clutch holding tool and a puller or mallet to replace the pulley. My original shim measured 0.016" while all 4 of the included shims were 0.020". I ended up using two of them which puts my average clearance right around the middle. So far it hasn't been hot enough to tell if has solved the problem but it sure looks new and shiny.

Perfect for when your A/C coil goes out!
PERFECT!! Installed on an ‘09 CR-V. These car’s have an issue with the magnetic clutch coils going bad resulting in the compressor not being able to engage. Item was great, and fit perfect. This was the 2nd time that I had to replace a clutch/coil on my CR-V, the previous car was unfortunately in an accident. Takes about 5 hours to complete the whole job. Not a whole lot of room to work with so removing the compressor from the car was easier in my case. Air blows cold now!

Have your own shims ready!
I had seen in some Youtube videos comment that Dorman only provide shims that are all the same thickness. I found this to be true with all being 0.50mm so had to double up on 2 shims and end up close to upper end of maximum gap tolerance(0.65mm). If I had used only 1 I would have been well below minimum tolerance(0.35mm). I selected using 2 shims as less bad choice Other than that, product worked well but this is a significant oversight - the tolerance range is 0.30mm so what’s the point of providing only 0.50mm shims?!? if you do this job on a Honda CRV it’s a major PiTA and I will not be amused if I need to repeat the disassembly to re-shim.

Saved me a ton of money
Fit like a glove and fixed my problem. Note to buyer: I installed this on a 2009 Honda CRV and did it without removing the compressor, you know environmental concerns and lack of charging equipment. Guys on YouTube make it look way but let me warn you it is a pain, especially if the vehicle is older. Hard to reach bolts that are likely rusted, the need for a special spanner wrench and just plain limited access. Saved me a bunch of money doing it myself but my bold felt the pain for a few days. Good luck.

Almost an exact fit...
This is a very cost effective solution for a situation where the compressor cycles due to clutch engagement issues. The Honda dealer quoted $3,500 to replace the entire compressor and recharge the system. This replacement was a little over 2% of that and solved the problem. Be forewarned; clutch replacement on CRV's is not for the feint of heart. It took me over 5 hours to complete what should have been a 45 minute swap. There is NO room to work. This would have been a 5 star rating except the snap rings provided we're not beveled like the originals. Took a while to discover that. Dave the original snap rings and reuse them.

Works for my 10 CRV compressor. Save lots of money.

After watching a youtube video on aircon issues regarding my Honda CR-V after the aircon packed up on the hottest day of this year so far, and having checked that power was getting to the pump, and that it was no longer engaging, I came to the conclusion that this was (hopefully) the answer. The local garage did the swap for me and it worked, saving me forking out £350 fir a new pump. Very pleased 👍
