The negative reviews seem unjust.
I rarely write reviews, but upon purchasing and using this product and seeing the onslaught of negative reviews, I had to sit down and type one out. First, I do not understand the negative reviews. Maybe some critical thinking skills aren't being applied when others have bought this product. You see lots of "My iPhone/Android camera takes better quality pictures!" in the complaints. Let's dissect this. Most smartphones nowadays retail for nearly $1,000 in total, and a key element in their advertising is not only the quality of the built in cameras but the constant improves from model to model. Of course, a smart phone camera is going to produce better quality pictures. It's one of the reasons we spend our hard earned money on them. If all we needed was a device to call and text, we'd still be using flip phones. Let's put our thinking caps on and remember why the little computers in our pockets can take excellent if not astounding quality pictures - because they're built to! Now, this Kodak camera does state it prints "superior photo" quality, but it does not boast "state of the art" quality or even "smart phone" quality, because it knows its place and that would be a flat out lie. Read the fine print, people! Superior does not automatically equate to breathtaking, especially when you look at the product itself. Once again, this is a basic camera/tool. It is not built to be an equal to a smartphone which is essentially, as I said, a mini-computer; It is not built to be an equal to even the lowest tier of professional photography cameras. It IS however, built to be a simple, basic photo taking device that you can also connect to your phone, iPad or other supported device if you choose to. It does what it says on the box, so I am happy with this purchase. I suspect other customers were expecting something far more complex and souped up, and that is not what this camera is. Now, the only cons I have for it is that printing process is a little slow, but it takes less than a minute. The paper quality is good though, so I'll let this slide. You can't have everything, especially if you're buying something that is quite budget when it comes to bells and whistles. And that's another thing I'd like to mention - this prints on modern day photo paper. Do not expect the thick, flimsy paper that actual polaroid cameras printed on. If that's what you're after, then you'll be better off heading over to eBay or a pawn shop. This is a modern take on an old school favorite. Understand what you're buying, and you will be a satisfied customer.

Don't expect professional pictures
I like having instant prints. Easy to use and print. My expectations were low as it should be for anyone that knows about Polaroid pictures. Good for scrapbook albums. The closer the photo the better the picture. Wide angles get blurry. Does it have a feature that tells u that it's the last pic? I haven't noticed and that can be annoying. Take a pic you can't save and message comes on to change cartridge. Battery does fade quickly. But also charges quickly. I agree the charging cord is too short and a plug should have been included. Overall I really like my camera. And I realize i cant expect professional pictures for the price I paid for a digital Polaroid. Fun photos are great!

poorly designed, buggy software
I'm not sure what market this device is supposed to target, but it's certainly can't be those who have used the old Polaroids before. the printing process is slow and awkward, and the print quality isn't that great the cartridges are small and kinda expensive considering the size of the print and the poor quality on top of that, there's a digital preview screen available on the camera that allows the user to take a few pictures and then select the best one to print before committing -- except the software that runs on the camera is buggy and the images on screen never advance, only showing the latest snap. There appears to be no "half-press the shutter button" to focus either, which is a common thing on digital cameras, and the screen gets stuck on the last picture take, so every subsequent picture has to be taking kinda blindly. how does this product even ship?

nice little "instant" camera with one gripe
i like this camera. it's not exactly an instant camera, but after you take a photo you have the option to print or delete the photo just taken, which you can't do with traditional instant cameras. i like this feature, because it saves on wasting printer paper on a photo you wouldn't want. my only issue is that the digital view finder on the back of the camera is too tiny and low resolution to have a good idea how sharp or blurry the picture may be. the view finder feels like its 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch in size and looks incredibly small compared to how big the back of the device is. outside of that and being able to save photos in storage, everything else works well.

Everything You Could Want In a Camera
As someone who enjoys a good bit of nostalgia, convenience, fun, and a good-quality camera, the Kodak mini Instant 3 retro was one of the best purchases I’ve made. First and most importantly, I have to talk about the image quality. Along with being a camera, it is also a printer that you can print from your phone. I was expecting photos like the ones from an instant mini Polaroid. The Kodak Mini blew any Polaroids out of the water. It doesn’t take long to print, easily less than 30 seconds. The actual photos are vibrant and colorful and are smudge-free. The camera, of course, is important to talk about. It’s user-friendly with only two buttons. One to turn the camera off and on and another to take the photo. The viewfinder provides guidance and helps to frame your shot. Additionally, the camera has a sleek and somewhat retro look which doesn’t look out of place when you go places and because of the size, you can take it with you basically anywhere. Another factor about this camera that just does it for me is that it isn’t just a camera. It’s a printer to, a printer you can use to print photos directly from your phone. It’s a great feature for those moments you want to cherish and remember but weren’t able to catch directly on your camera. I think it’s also important to talk about battery life when it comes to any technology and in this case, the battery life of this camera. Most importantly, this camera is charged by a cord so you don’t have to worry about going through a bunch of batteries. The Kodak Mini 3 also holds a charge really well. It can go for hours without being charged. It’s a camera that I would recommend to anyone who wants to capture important and cherished memories but doesn’t know how to or can buy a large bulky camera. This is a small and sleek camera that is easy to take with you and a printer that produces good-quality pictures. Personally, I think it’s worth the money. I bought more expensive cameras and they were fine but this is the one that has left an impression.

It has a built in flash you can turn on or off and it also has built I'm printer that u can blue tooth to your phone and take photos from your phone e and printer them instantly as well. Very fun and nice to have I'm very happy with my camera and the function buttons are easy to read and very easy to use!!

Works 60% of the time
First, this a neat little camera that's always a hit at parties. It's really fun to print photos right away and everyone loves this camera! I considered a Polaroid, but decided on this this one instead. Here are the differences: A Polaroid camera uses film. If you took a bad photo, you just spent $2 on that photo. The Kodak camera is a digital camera with a built-in printer. This camera has a little 1.5 inch screen that lets you kind of see your picture and decide if you want to print it. The built - in camera is not very good. If you're taking pictures indoors at night, I recommend lighting up the shot using the flashlight on your phone. You can also just take the picture on your phone, then use the Kodak app to send it over via bluetooth and use this camera as a printer. Those all sound like cool features, so I bought it. Here's how it went: I climbed up in the treehouse in my back yard to take a picture of some squirrels. The squirrels cooperated and didn't run away. Unfortunately, it appears this camera is harder to control than wild squirrels, as it completely failed to print the first photo. The printer portion of this camera contains a cartridge with 10 photos and ink inside. When you print, the photo moves out of the camera and back in, printing red, yellow, blue, and a protective layer. All this movement is very problematic. I got a red squirrel photo, then the paper jammed going back in. It continued trying to move the photo in and out 4 times, until the photo was crinkled up, and the thin plastic that contains the ink was all tangled up. The cartridge was ruined and I got zero photos for the price of 10. I decided to give the camera a second chance and took it to a New Year's eve party. I had better luck this time and got 7 good pictures and 3 bad ones, and the cartridge didn't break this time. Everyone loved the cute little 3 inch by 3 inch photos. Pro tips: Fully charge the camera before use Use your phone flashlight Set it on a table to print and don't touch it while it's printing. If you decide to buy this camera, keep your expectations low. If you want a good picture, just use your phone. If you want nostalgia, this thing is ok, but it doesn't work very well. In school, 60% is a D- which is a passing grade I guess.

Fun, and so cute. Great photos printed from camera roll.
This is a fun little camera/photo printer. You can take a photo with this camera and print it or print a photo from the camera roll on a mobile device. If you take a photo with this camera, options are print or delete. No photo card, so delete means deleted. Also, like others wrote, photos printed from a camera roll are much better than ones taken with this camera. It is fun to snap and print, but you will be happier taking photos with your phone and using this as a printer to print them. The photos will come out as good as photos printed via an online service. I do print most of mine online anyway, as I am not sure of the longevity of these instant photos, as far as colour and clarity. The old Polaroids from my youth are faded and grainy, but this photo paper is different technology and doesn't have that layer of chemical inside, so I am thinking these will last a lot longer. And, the colours! They are accurate. I have taken several photos of food with my iPhone and printed them with this Kodak instant printer. The food is so realistic it looks like the actual food and not a photo of food. I have another Kodak camera (Step). It uses Zink paper and prints 2 x 3s. The printed photos come out NOTHING like the actual photos. Ever. I edit. Does not matter. It's disheartening. Very disappointing. I hope someone works on that technology and they put out an updated printer that prints like this Kodak camera/printer. I love this one! Oh, and you can write on the white part (edges) and also the back if you want to label them with dates, events, names, etc. And, you can choose border or borderless! The only negative thing about this camera/printer is the fact it is available in so many cute colours it is hard to choose which one to buy! Oh, that and the beeping, but I read somewhere it beeps when it is not fully charged. I hope that's the reason! But, I totally recommend this printer. Print from your device. You will be so happy with this printer!
