Upon receipt scrubbed it and seasoned it in the oven. First batch of waffles were a failure. Might have been user error or a bad day since the eggs stuck in our well-seasoned cast iron pan that meal. We were rusing for an appointment and in hindsight it wasn't the best choice of time to try a new pan. Second day perfect waffles. See photo.

Used a lot of ghee but the food got stuck in the grooves! Maybe it’s because I used oat flour and no eggs???

Difficult to cook with (heavy, waffle always sticks) and very difficult to clean because of spikes.

This is/ was a gift sent direct. It arrived on the date of the occasion. I’ve received no complaints. I ordered this product once before as a different gift. The folks have used and enjoyed.

The hinge could be better. It's a little loose fitting for a pie iron. Over an open camp fire I would choose something else. Too late to return but probably won't bring this on a second camp trip.

I took a chance on this waffle iron as it didn't have any reviews yet. I wanted a real cast iron and not something with a nonstick coating. It seems to work great and is a fraction of the cost of the more expensive irons. It doesn't have the big base or the ball to roll it on as you flip it, but it gets the job done. No complaints here.

All my cookware is cast iron. I'm used to seasoning and washing it. This waffle maker though... I have not gotten a single waffle out of it. I seasoned it 4 times. I oiled it. I preheated to piping hot. I tried all the things. And every single time you have to soak it in water cause the waffle is stuck all over it. It's going in the trash, where it belongs.

I'm thinking that in this case if you got the right bather, then you got yourself a good waffle, the product is good, easy to use and it cooks evenly.
