Simple and reliable
This Klein outlet tester is a very handy tool to have around the house. It’s extremely simple to use—just plug it into an outlet and the indicator lights quickly show whether the wiring is correct or if there’s a problem like an open ground or reversed wiring. The built-in GFCI test button is also very useful. It allows you to quickly verify that GFCI outlets are functioning properly and trip when they should. I used it to check several outlets around the house and it worked exactly as expected. The build quality feels solid, which is typical for Klein tools, and the printed legend on the front makes it easy to interpret the light patterns. Overall this is an inexpensive but very useful tool for homeowners, DIYers, or anyone who wants to quickly verify outlet wiring and GFCI protection.

Small and mighty
Picked this up to help diagnose two outlets that weren't working. Told me I had an issue with a negative wire, pulled the outlet out and sure enough, the wire had popped off. The tool was 100% spot on in diagnosing the issue. Its compact, cheap, and works. Can't get better than that.

Safe alternative to shock
Works as it should, would rather find bad receptacle this way opposed to shocking experience.

Good product!
Very easy to use. Gives you a general overview of how your outlets are wired. Does not take the place of more sophisticated (and expensive) receptacle testers or an assessment by a qualified electrician, however

Must have
Quickly identifies wiring issues and gives clear indicators. Compact and sturdy. Lost one star because the labeling could be a bit clearer in low light, but overall a dependable tool for electricians and DIYers

Great Value! Extremely Useful for DIYers!
One of the best and easiest to use electric test devices I have ever had. Better than previous version with the ground-fault circuit tester, I keep it handy for trouble shooting.
