Easy to use, great results
Easy to use, easy to clean! Everything snaps apart for thorough washing. I appreciate the real airlock created with the water in the canister, compared to the simple silicone valve style. So far I have made my own pineapple tepache, vinegar, saurkraut, and several kimchi variations. I even fermented the unripe tomatoes, onion tops, and broccoli leaves from my garden that would have gone to waste. These help me save money and eat healthy!

Worked great!
I’m new to fermenting pickles, but found that the water lock was the best at keeping out oxygen. These were easy to set up and use. My counter looked like a science experiment, but it was also fun to see the gasses make the float rise and fall as they released. I would buy it again.

Genius! Convertible lids are the way to go.
These lids and water locks are just what the beginning fermenter needs! No need to watch, wait and burp your batches. This set-up takes care of it without intervention. I've been using them for several years and they are holding up well. I love the fact that I can take out the water lock and use the silicone plug to close the hole without changing lids. Someone was thinking!

Sturdy airlocks, 4 stars because first time using plastic lids.
Just got these yesterday and got some of my homemade sauerkraut going. I read a bunch of reviews and felt like I should share my initial thoughts. The airlocks are heavy and well made compared to the ones I’ve used in the past. These are fiddly things that no matter how well made are prone to cracking and breaking, especially if you are too rough with the cap. I am, so far impressed with the quality of these air locks. The reason I only give 4 stars is that this is my first time using plastic lids for my ferments and that makes me nervous. I got them because the initial fermentation videos I watched years ago had plastic lids and not the metal lids or the plastic inserts into the ball lid ring. I will revise this when my batch of sauerkraut is done.

Excellent Product!
So far, these have worked fantastic. This has opened up the ability for me to use all my jar sizes for fermentation! Excellent product.

Not bad, but not great
I bought these to start my new mead-making hobby as starter fermentation vessel tops. Ended up buying a 6 pack of half gallon mason jars to work with them. While the process did work, I find that the tops don't screw on to the mason jars so easily (I was able to get them to work with a seal, but it takes some oomph to get them on). The other thing I didn't like is that because the metal is so sharp, the rubber gaskets are very easy to rip. In my first batch of 2 jars, I ripped both of them and had to replace them. If you get this product, be careful how you put the rubber gaskets onto the lid.

Works great!
We love to use these for a quick and easy sourdough bread loaf recipe. Mix it up in 1/2 gal mason jar and pop this lid on. Let ferment for 72 hours, transfer to a loaf pan and bake it. It turns out AMAZING! makes sourdough bread so easy!

As others have mentioned, the lid slices through the rubber gasket. Don’t buy, won’t work.

Didn’t realise the jars don’t come with the lids!! Overpriced plastic.
