Excellent product. Despite purchasing the larger sized globe, I still switched to smaller bead-headed map pins to save space in areas we traveled extensively. Colors look terribly dark in the box but are very nice when seen in actual light. Pins take a bit of patience to insert through the cardboard which backs up the cork exterior, but slow, steady pressure does the trick. Yes, there seems to be a plastic ring inside the equator which poses a problem sticking a pin in places like Singapore (as another rater mentioned) but i managed. Nice size, nice quality, and a great idea for those who cherish their travels.

I actually ordered this for my son-in-law to give my daughter for Christmas. She is a nurse who works for a travel clinic and is inspired to travel all over the world. This globe will track her adventures! LOVE it!

I bought two of them, one for each one of my sons. I really like the way they look on our entertainment center. The color shows a nice contrast of land and water. I had to buy smaller push pins in order to be able to fit the amount of pins I needed to. The countries and states are not labeled, so I had to look at an actual globe in order to find the locations visited. The only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 stars is because of the price. I felt that it was a bit pricey for a styrofoam globe.

We used this for my mom's birthday party. We marked out all the places she'd been. So many people commented on how cool it was. I'd recommend it. You definitely need more pins than what it comes with.

First, I loved the idea of this small globe that can be easily displayed. However, there are many issues. First, I noticed when taking it from the box, that the two hemispheres did not line up. There was a slight gap between the longitude lines at the center. Next, when I tried to push in the pin, it was extremely difficult. I was using smaller pins so I could mark more areas, but had to use the large push pin to make a hole. Lastly, when pushing a hole near a seam, the cork pushed in and the seam opened. I was able to pull it back into shape, but not able to make any more holes on that seam. It would have been better to mark with a Sharpie. So, overall, great idea, but poor quality.

Poor quality

I'll begin by saying this is a nice product. I got it for my mother as a Christmas gift and she loves it. However, like many other reviews state, it is WAY overpriced for what you get. I do understand the whole "supply-demand" dynamic, and if you're one of the only ones to make a product of course you want to make as much as possible from it... But I can't imagine it costs anywhere near what you pay for it as a consumer to make, and if they were to charge a more reasonable price the manufacturers could still turn a profit. The price isn't the only reason I'm only giving this globe 3 stars... The small size is VERY small, and the plastic ring around the middle is a bit cheap looking. It's not really noticeable from far away, but up close it does take away from the overall look of the piece. Also, once you put pins in it the globe only rotates a certain distance; the stand doesn't have much room between the metal and the cork to allow pins to pass through, so if you have a lot of places to mark the globe is basically stuck in the same position. But overall this is a fun product and a nice gift for the traveller in your life. So if the price doesn't break your bank and you don't really mind the things I've mentioned, I would recommend it overall.

Bought as gift for world traveling friend that likes to journal.

This is a great gift idea for travellers. The item arrived as expected, though in hindsight this is a pretty high price for what the item is. That said, it's a Christmas gift for the people who 'have everything' and I know they will be really pleased. This item arrived quickly.
