Kwikset Tustin Entry Door Handle with Lock and Key, Secure Keyed Reversible Lever Exterior, For Front Entrance and Bedrooms, Satin Nickel, Pick Resistant Smartkey Rekey Security and Microban

We have double-glazed, steel-faced French doors with internal venetian blinds, opening to an exterior patio area. The doors came with low quality door hardware knobs that have been a pain. We therefore replaced this hardware with the Quikset Tustin Keyed Entry Lever, with Satin Nickel finish to match all internal Kwickset door levers in the house. Written and diagrammatic instructions in the carton are very clear; written and drawn by people who have aced how to communicate with non-tradespeople, with step-by-step progression thru the installation process. All needed parts are provided in the carton, each set of parts being secured in a sealed plastic bag or compartment. Again - someone has given a lot of thought to ensuring a no-hassle installation process. There's a 1-800 number to call for help if need-be. The hardware depth is easily adjusted for door thickness from 1-⅜ to 1-¾ inch (the latter being what we needed) and the levers are easily positioned to (i) face left or right, inside and outside, and (ii) have the lever with the key slot on the outside. Whatever orientation you want will be achievable. The carton includes two new door keys. We re-keyed the new lockset so that we could continue to use the keys from the old lockset we were replacing. The process is simple and easy, requires only a small tool (provided in the carton) and takes less than a minute. It does, however, require the old key to be of a KW1 type - meaning that the long grooves on the key will let it slide into the new lock. The lockset is certified for its security level and has a Lifetime Warranty. The satin nickel finish on our internal door levers, now 8 years old, has proven to resist ageing and to be very easy to wipe clean. We are hoping that the exterior patio door lever, exposed to south Texas heat, but not direct sunshine, does the same.

I was a little bummed out that I had to replace a door handle on my house since they are all keyed the same and it meant having to either settle for another key on my ring or get the new lock tumbler changed. I really didn't read the part description very well and just bought a replacement Kwikset handle. OMGosh I was delightfully surprised. I removed the old one and put this one in. It was easier to install than the old due to a engineering change in how the screws that hold the two handle halves together are designed. Great work Kwikset. The best part of the new lock though is the smartkey security feature. It very simply allows you to mechanically program your old key to use in this new lock. Wow! that was fabulous. I guess it doesn't work with all old lock-sets but I am fortunate that it worked with mine. The lock-set feels sturdy and works very well. I cannot attest to how long it will last but it seems well made and so far is working great. I could not be happier with this product and highly recommend it to anyone that needs a new lock-set. Packaging: Shipped in a brown Amazon box. The products were nicely packaged in red and black branded boxes with clear plastic to see the product inside. Product Impressions: We bought 3 of these for a new home. Came with all pieces of hardware and was super simple to install. Just note this may not fit every door due to sizing. Make sure to measure before installing. Please also note: REKEY THIS IMMEDIATELY. I tested and confirmed all keys are the same for all 3 meaning if I was a thief and saw you had the same lock, and you didn't rekey it, I would technically have a key to your home if I ordered the same product as you. We rekeyed ours immediately. Usability: Worked well on our doors- hopefully it lasts a while. Overall Thoughts: Great and affordable product- just wished they made it more clear to people to rekey these.

My house came with this style handles when we purchased it 15 years ago. I needed another locking handle, so I bought this one. The good news is the style matches perfect. The bad news though, is they changed the tint on the finish slightly, so the color doesn't match. It's close, and if you weren't looking at them side by side you might say they were the same. But the old ones have a more silvery look. These are a little more yellowish. I actually noticed that a few years back when I tried to get a replacement at the local home center. The old silver simply isn't available anymore. Other than that, they are typical Kwikset handles. Quality good enough for household use as long as you don't abuse them.

I bought this entry set instead of getting a cheaper one because my past experience with Kwikset Signature Series makes me believer that the Signature Series has much more quality than the cheaper lines. I was not disappointed. This entry set is very solid, was easy to install, and will last for many years.

I love my new door handle. I didn't imagine it would make such a difference, but I would hate to go back to a round door knob after using this one. How many times do you approach your front door with your hands full? It's no problem with this type of door handle. It was easy to install myself. It is a great brand, great quality. It was just as described in the add. The color and style were accurately depicted. I am planning to change all my door latches to this style.

Really nice handle for an upgrade on an exterior door after repainting. I was replacing a builder installed Kwikset, so I didn’t even have to replace the strike plate or latch, just replaced the handle and rekeyed with the smart key system (which was a major selling point on this). So no need for a locksmith or paying more to rekey.
