01740014A 1/2" Pump Strainer, Black

This water particulate pump strainer is larger than most and it's simple to install. Since it's larger, it's more robust and has a larger reservoir to cut down on the frequency with which you have to clean it. Having a particulate strainer filter before your pump (the supply side), is crucial for keeping your pump from an early failure.

Easy to use, install and fit right into the side of flojet pump. We have an off grid location where we use a rain water collection system. We’ve been carrying buckets if water to the shower but we finally got to install our new water heater, flojet pump and this little filter. Our rainwater is filtered by a tea towel so we cant see much debris in there in the first place but after two weeks use we found much more small stuff in this filter than expected. Love that it can be easily taken apart and reused.

A great little filter to keep the pipe junk out of your water. Not expensive and saves the cost and labor of replacing a $35 pressure switch or a $100+ water pump. Just install it at any point between the water supply and the pump and you're ready to operate. Easy to make an adapter for slip-on hose connections. Nice product. Same as original. Came with all the adapters except the one I needed. Had to get one from Home Depot.

This has the 1/2" threaded portion for the input. Worked for me as I used 5/8" standard garden hose for my application. The other version of this strainer has a 1/2" barb fitting. Just be aware of the difference. I think the threaded version is more useful being that you can purchase the appropriate connector fitting for your specific application.

Had an issue with the Remco filter with quick attach leaking badly. Bought this one to see if it would work. Took 5 minutes to change out. It does work with a Remco Aquajet.

While troubleshooting an air leak in my pipes I found this had a very small crack around the fitting. It wasn't enough to cause a leak but it was enough to cause a lot of sputtering at all my outlets when the pump was running and constantly lost prime. Replaced it and everything was as good as new.

It works with the caveat that I thought I was getting the version that had two barbed connectors (which is prominent in the picture) and not a right angled version with the threaded connector. I had to get a little creative with my setup to make this work.
