My cat was peeing everywhere
I hardly ever write reviews on products, but this one really saved me so I thought I would write about my experience for all the other cat people. My house reeked of cat pee since my girl had been randomly peeing in random places. I took her to the vet and they told me to buy some plastic litter and bring them a urine sample because it would be more expensive if they had to go in her bladder and extract it themselves, so I tried to get her to use the plastic litter I bought at the vet, she refused. Then she stopped peeing for awhile so I thought the problem had resolved itself. Nope, I woke up to my @%^&%# cat peeing on my head and neck! I was so pissed off and frustrated with her, I wanted to kill her!!! (I would never) I researched why my cat would being peeing everywhere, the website said that it could be stress, changes, dietary problems, or health issues (kidney and UTI). So I ended up looking up on Amazon for a product that would help me determine what the problem is without having to pay another $60 for a 15 minute visit. So I bought the kit and used it immediately the next morning, I put my cat in the bathroom (took out all the rugs of course) and left for work. I came home later that day and she used the bathroom on the hydrophobic sand. Great! I got the test strip and dipped it in her urine and low and behold, she had increased protein, her pH levels were off the chart. So I looked it up and turns our she had a UTI. At the same time I purchased this kit, I suspected it was a UTI so I purchased BestLife4Pets Cat UTI Urinary Tract Infection Treatment; All Natural Homeopathic. I gave her 3 pills a day which dissolved easily but still had to hold her down while she cried. But it was easy peesy and ever since I started giving her those pills, she stopped peeing everywhere. I am so thankful for this kit! The amount of sand you get is not a whole lot, so I think the kit could be a little cheaper but overall, it worked like a charm!

Diagnosed My Cat's UTI -- She says MEOW! (Thank you!)
Our cat that never pees outside of the litter box, did so on a blanket that was sitting on the floor. I noticed that she just sat there crouched for a long time but only a small amount of pee came out. She then repeatedly would go to the litter box and squat, but not always go. Otherwise she seemed fine and showed no signs of distress. I was worried because she is an older cat so I ordered this special litter and it did exactly what it was supposed to do... Diagnose a UTI. It is not a lot of litter (2lbs), but enough to fill the bottom of a small pan, which I put with the cat in a closed door bedroom away from the other cats and communal litter box. I made sure she had plenty of water. When she peed, the liquid sat on top of the litter and did not seep in. I was easily able to collect a very clean specimen with the included pipette and tube. It came with two test strips, but I only used one. The results were subtle but clear that her PH was off. The kit did not explain what that meant, but I was able to go to the website to read about the results and what I needed to do about it. I collected the sample in the evening, so I put the test tube sample in the fridge, as the directions suggested, and called the vet in the morning. The sample was good enough and fresh enough that the vet was able to use it with their test. They came up with the same results, that the cat had a uterine infection, so the vet prescribed antibiotics and our cat is doing great now. I think that I will order another box to keep around just in case she shows signs again. I am very pleased with how easy the product was to use. My only complaint and the reason I did not give it five stars is because the stopper for the test tube would not stay on/in the top of the tube. When pressed into the top of the tube to close it off, it slowly creeped up and then would POP into the air. I had to tape the stopper on using a piece of packing tape and placed it in a cup to keep it upright. Also, I thought it was weird that the expiration date that was on a sticker on the outside of the box was much sooner than the expiration date that was printed on the items inside the box. I'm not sure why there were different expiration dates, but the shorter date was only about a year from when we purchased the kit and the longer date about two years. So it might not be a good idea to stock up on these? I would definitely recommend this kit. It gave me peace of mind and I felt confident that I really needed to take my cat to the vet rather than worry that I would spend money for no reason.

Only one pipette and collection container
The litter works great, but one is not enough. Biggest issue is they only give you one pipette and one collection container. My vet wanted to take the container for the lab, so the other liter is useless unless I buy another container. My vet also said she'd prefer not to reuse the pipette. She said soap residue can affect test result and that unless I wash it with distilled water, that the water I wash /rinse it with can affect the pH.

It's Easier to Use Than Spotting the Constellation "U-ri-on"
Works as advertised, very good instructions. It is used by veterinarians, so that is assuring. Our cat buried his "business" very well, but the urine drained into the corners of the litter box and it was very easy to take up with the included syringe. Our cat was negative on all ill effects. I highly recommend this product to check your cat periodically to determine if a ventranary vist is needed. Cats don't speak human and they can't tells us when they are feeling badly. All they can say is, "F-n' Meow!" The kit includes two test strips and a rubber capped vial so you can take the sample to the vet for confirmation. The non absorbent litter comes in 3 packages, you use all 3, there isn't much litter but enough to last 2 days or so - so your can spread out the two tests. After that, toss this non absorbent litter and put in your regular fresh litter. Your cat will appreciate that.

Easy!!
I was so nervous because there is not a lot of litter in the bag, but I used the litter first thing in the morning, easily collected the urine with the tools provided, and changed out the litter to my normal kind. Very single to use!!

The urine floats on top. It is amazing. We just tried it and my cat was fine. She only had stomach problem. Saved money on a lot of useless tests.

Easy to use, although pipette and test tube a bit small - however loved the second strip just in case. The protein marker was difficult to read due to very similar colours but thought there was an issue. We tested our cat, he used the litter as normal stuff (use alone - no other litter. Don't be deterred by lack of coverage. We have extra large cat -6.8kg - so extra large litter tray, sparse cover, still worked well) we thought possible urinary infection as blocked 1 year ago and was (sorry graphic) grooming his penis in a way he hasn't before. Test suggested ph problem (UTI) and protein in urine (kidney problem). Straight to vet who confirmed PH imbalance possible cystitis, possible early diagnosis of kidney disease.... that was after blood tests and further urine analysis. So for an extremely nervous stressed out cat this worked well to test before subjecting him to the severe stress of a visit to the vet. Although that is where it ulimately led! Will buy again!! Thank you.

I tested my cat when she began urinating around the house. The test came up positive for protein and was later confirmed at the vets. It is a good starting place, to see if your cat needs further investigation.

Performed this test on a urine sample from my one year old male Scottish fold because he was exhibiting a new behavior (genital licking) and I am SO glad I did. Took him to the vet because of the results and he was diagnosed with a bladder infection and struvite crystal formation. They said that if I didn't take him in when I did his urinary tract could have become plugged which could have been fatal if unnoticed. He is now on medication, his food has been switched and he is doing well. I would have taken him into the vet even if this test came back negative, but who knows how bad the infection would have gotten by that time. Not sure how accurate this test is, but it seems to be good enough to at least alert you there is something going on with kitty. Overall, very easy to use and I would highly recommend all cat owners to have one of these on hand.
