If you have a Leatherman Wave+, you need this case.
This case is so much better than the one that came with my Leatherman Wave+, it's insane. The craftsmanship is excellent. The leather is about twice as thick. My chief complaint about the one that came with my Wave+ is that the belt loop is huge and very loose, causing it to flop around on my belt. That prompted me to seek a better option. There are a bunch of choices out there. Some are built like a pancake holster. They look nice, but they're awfully expensive. More than I paid for the Leatherman. The American Benchcraft case is a lot less expensive than those (close to 1/3 the price) but still exceptionally sturdy, and it also looks pretty decent. And the belt loop design is great. It'll stay tight on the belt and won't be all floppy. It fits my Wave+ like a glove. Some other commentor said their button didn't stay closed. Mine seems to have no such problem. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It looks like they also make some nice belts, too. I included some pictures of the case, as well as the one that came with the Leatherman for comparison.

New life for an old knife
Like for cameras, your best multi-tool is the one you actually carry around with you. I haven't used my Leatherman Wave in years, because it kept falling out of the stock velcro case, which had its velcro wear out within a year. The Leatherman is way to large to fit in a jeans pocket, so I carried around a smaller knife with fewer features instead, at the expense of wearing holes in my pockets and frequently not having the right tool on hand for a given task. This case, as simple as it looks, seems to be the perfect case for the Leatherman; and I wear it all the time for a month now. The case fits the Wave perfectly, neither too loose nor too tight. The snap is crisp and proper, and the leather is sturdy, thick, and of very high quality. Although it has only been a month of wear, the riveted construction (rather than stitched) shows no wear at all and inspires confidence that this case won't fall apart or fray. In sum, although there are many cheaper cases out there for multi-tools, I expect to have this one for the life of the tool and prefer that to the more disposable sort. I like it so much that I'll probably buy one of their belts as well.

Makes a world of difference for stable, secure and comfortable carry!
Very Impressed! Thick, top quality leather, great craftsmanship, very heavy duty, and made in the USA! Came in a nice velvet drawstring pouch that could be reused or gifted, an info card explaining why rivits are better then sticking for this type of case, and a cool viking logo slap! Photo shows all these items; case has my Wave+ installed. The belt loop fits my 1.5" nylon tactical belt firmly; definately not going to slide around on its own. Without break-in, the case requires placement on the belt without the Leatherman installed, and requires a finger being placed on the opposite side of the loop in order to push down on the case body in order to get the belt past the body edge under the loop. This is absolutely no big deal, and will likely not be nessisary one broken in. The snap is perfect: not too light and not too hard to snap and unsnap. I found myself not carrying my Leatherman due to the crappy nylon sheaths Leathman ships; this makes all the difference for a stable, secure and comfortable carry. I just ordered one of these for my smaller Rebar as well!

Well made. Fits my Leatherman Wave.
Very well made all leather belt sheath for my Leatherman Wave. I had a Leatherman brand leather sheath but it was made of much thinner leather and wore out. Found this and thought I’d give it a try. After using it a couple of months I’m not disappointed. This is made of thick leather which will wear and conform to whatever I put in it. It is a tight fit, but that’s what you need with new leather. I’ve read reviews saying the sheath is hard to put on a belt. This is due to the way the sheath is constructed. This is easily overcome by inserting a finger into the loop, holding the ends of the sheath towards the back, keeping them out of the way of your belt while you push it through the loop. It should get easier the more it’s used. If you want a custom fit for your knife or tool, place the tool or knife in a sandwich bag, squeeze the air out. Then soak your leather sheath in warm water for ten minutes or more. Place the tool of knife (inside the sandwich bag) into the now wet sheath. Leave it in the sheath for 24 hours and when the sheath dries it will be custom fitted to your knife.

Solid build, attractive, stands-up well
After more than a year of constant, tough use, my multi-plier sheath still looks great -- and has no rivets working their way free or impending snap failure. Fits the tool and holds it securely, with "just the right amount of slack:" easy to draw, without being too snug or rattling. Glad I spent the money; great item (far better than the one provided by the multi-plier manufacturer).

Don't buy a sheath from Leatherman - get this one instead.
Leatherman makes great tools but their belt sheaths are subpar. I replaced one that fell apart with this one from American Bench Craft LTD. This sheath is made of a single piece of very thick leather, held in shape with four heavy duty rivets. There is no stitching or glue to fail. Simple, strong construction. The leather is stiff, and it's a little difficult to thread a belt through the loop but this hasn't been a problem for me. The only negative is the snap could be stronger - the leather flap is stiff and wants to spring open, and the snap pops apart with little provocation. I expect this to be less of an issue as the leather softens up, but IMO the snap is too weak so I'm giving 4 stars instead of five. The Leatherman Wave is a snug fit, and it doesn't fall out even if the snap does open accidently; but it's still pretty easy to extract the tool when I need to use it. Overall I'm very pleased with this sheath, I expect it will last a lifetime Highly recommended. Update I've had the sheath for 1-1/2 years now, use it daily. It still looks new. The flap has softened up a bit with use, no longer tends to unsnap by itself. Extremely durable, may outlast the tool (and me!). Highly recommended. Update #2, 6-12-2021 Still going strong, a tiny bit of patina showing now, no sign of weakening anywhere. I used this every day, pretty amazed at the durability. Update #3, 9-28-2023 Still in perfect condition. Leather, rivets, snap all intact. No real signs of wear, other than a slight patina. Awesome product.

best one ever!!
excellent quality, used it daily for last 3 months and is holding up great. thicker leather then standard sheaths and holds to belt tight, meaning it doesnt slide off easily when you undo the belt which happens regularly with old style. also no stitching at all that tends to break and unravel on other styles. absolutely the best one i've ever had!!

Very well made, fits my Wave Plus perfectly
I recently purchased a black Wave Plus as I have been so happy with my very well used old Wave over the years and wanted to try this newer design. My Wave had a case from the time Leatherman still made a decent leather case, also very well used but holding together nicely. I also wanted a leather case for my new Wave Plus so bought this ABC case. It is excellent. Thick leather, beautifully finished. Unlike at least one other review, it fits my Wave Plus (and Wave) perfectly with no large gap at top. The snap holds well on closing and has a nice smooth finish. The only snag I have is it is hard to get my leather belt thru it. I realize part of that is the tightness that will go away with use. However what will not go away is the fact that the case wall behind the Wave is split (by design). If I try to put the belt thru the end of it catches on the case split. It also catches when removing the case from the belt as my belt has a slight raised area. An easy work around is to remove the Wave, stick my finger in there and guide the belt past the end of the belt. Hopefully this will become less of a factor as the case expands from use but is from my view a flaw in an otherwise perfect case. Still giving it five stars as it is otherwise so great.
