Great kit works well after many uses
I use it frequently, did a whole car with it without issues. I'd buy this kit again.

Good flaring tool for the money
I used this tool to make a brake line to connect my master cylinder to the proportioning valve. I don't know if it was me or the previous owner who damaged the 7/16 - 24 tube nut. The damaged thread made installing the brake line to the master cylinder difficult. The undamaged 3/16 - 24 tube nut went on in seconds. I bought a 3/16" brass tube from a hobby shop and placed one end in the tool. There were no instructions to indicate how much of the tube should be above the tool. I tried two different heights with unuseable double flares. On my third attempt I got a nicely formed double flare. It fit perfectly on the tube nut. My fourth try also produced a nicely formed double flare. All I have to do now is bend the tube in the approximate shape of the existing brake line. After double flaring brass tubes, I bought a stainless steel tube with .028 wall thickness. I placed the stainless steel tube in the flaring bar and was able to make a nice double flare. I placed the other end of the tube in the flaring bar and turned the handle. This time there was no bubble. I removed the adapter and tried to flare the tube. There was no flare on the tube and the end of the tube was below the surface of the flaring bar. I removed the tube from the flaring bar and tried again. Same results. I discovered that the flaring bar was no longer holding the tube in place. It turns out the stainless steel tube wore down the threads that hold the tubes in place. This tool will not work with stainless steel more than one time.

Works
For the price works well, does leave bad marks on break line after crimping so if using steel line may be more of an issue for rust and steel lines would be difficult

Works great. Well worth the cost.
Works great on the soft steel aftermarket lines. It was difficult to use on the factory steel lines as they were much harder steel. You really have to crank down the tightening screws and I had to go back and rework the flare. Also my factory lines were coated so you have to get that coating stuff off before you can patch into them. I managed to use a hand crimping tool for coax cable and I used the stripping function to pull the coating off. Overall the tool works well and it saved me a big repair bill.

Do not buy this tool if you are flaring NiCopp tubing
I bought this tool based on the 62% of reviewers considered it a decent tool and gave it a 5 star rating. It might be fine for copper or aluminum but it is not capable of making double flares on 5/16 NiCopp tubing. To be honest, I don't think any of the Chinese made, clamping bar type flaring tools sold on Amazon are worth your money. Here are my complaints; 1. Wing nuts suck. I suppose they use them so folks won't over-tighten the bar clamp. I used a wrench to get the wing nuts a little tighter but not too tight. The bar clamp holds the tubing securely. It did not slip through the clamp while I was performing the first step of a double flare. 2. There are no sizes stamped on the bar clamp but I suppose you'd have to be an idiot not to use the right holes. 3. When the bar clamp is tightened the two halves do not meet squarely. The gap between the two halves was greater at the bottom and this produces a crooked flare. 4. I put a drop of oil on the tip of the anvil but the tubing scratched it. You would think this would be a hardened part. The Ares flaring tool I bought at the same time did not show any gouges or scratches. 5. I didn't use the tubing cutter because it is probably junk too. 6. I didn't use their 5/16 double flare button because some of the reviews said they were cheaply made. I used the button from my 1970s Craftsman flaring tool which has always given me good service. If you insist on buying this tool, make sure you use oil on the threads and tip of the anvil tool. Use just a touch of grease on the double flaring button. File the end of your tubing square and chamfer the inside and outside diameter. This tool will still make a crappy flare though.

Works as advertised
This kit works as advertised and did a great job of double flaring my brake lines. No leaks when assembled. This set is not professional grade, but definitely good enough for the occasional user. No complaints.

Broke after 4 flares
One of the lockdown bolts on the die stripped on the fourth flare. The tightening bar is small diameter & short, impossible to over tighten. I was able to find a bolt in my shop that matched the threads and allow me to finish the flare I was making. But I ordered a higher quality tool to finish the job. I don’t flare a lot of fittings, was hoping that I could get by with this tool. Maybe the threads in the tool I got were just a quality control failure, the rest of the tool seems OK. But it still cost me in the end.
