Sperry Instruments VC61000 Volt Check Voltage & Continuity Tester, Black & Yellow

My husband does maintenance and loves this little gadget to read electrical current, or lack of. It's sturdy.

This instrument is the Service repair tech's dream tool!... Other meters you have to turn the dial to the expected current / Continuity / Voltage , or pull out the lead to go from ohms to volts etc... but this device only requires you to push the button and touch the leads to the contacts. - no mistakes! if there is a surprise... i.e... a grounded wire, or open circuit it tells you straight out... and the top has a no contact current checker also. It is the bomb. the price makes it a must have for anyone who works with electricity. You will love it and never use those older more expensive meters that have to be on Ac or DC or Low Voltage or ohms particular settings to get the correct readings! no embarrassing mistakes!

Very good for the price, I use this nearly everyday at work and have on had one problem. It you drop it several dozen times as I have you'll end up having to replace the screw that holds the battery tray shut as it's plastic and breaks pretty easy.

The cord on this tester is to stiff it won't go in cases made for voltage testors and is hard to use because the cords stiff will not buy anymore Sperry items

I bought a second one because of how I liked and used the old one. I am a master carpenter and maintenance engineer. I constantly need a inductive ac tester (and also it's a continuity tester) I keep it in a place in my truck where I know it's at all the time. It's the best "wiggy" type unit I have found. Oh and I couldn't find it in any store only at amazon.

Had it for almost a year before the leads have gone bad.It worked great up until then.So it gives inconsistent readings.Sometimes it works and sometimes not..I contatacted Sperry's customer service and left a message 4 days ago.I don't think their going to call back.So I will try again.Tried their e-mail address and its not going through.I will let you know what happens.I own a clamp meter from Sperry for over 10 years with no problems what so ever.I keep both of them in same pouch and they still look new.It's most likely just a defect.I just hope they do the right thing.Even states on their website a lifetime warrenty.Just to let everyone know this not a Amazon problem.It's Sperry's responsibilty.Have to say Amazon has always done the right thing by me if I did have a problem..Thats why I constantly use Amazon.Again,I hope Sperry does the right thing here....O.K. just to let everyone know Sperry did honor their warrenty.They replaced my broken tester just had to pay to send my unit to them.My only complaint after all this is that the process of sending it back to Sperry, them checking it to let me know if they would cover it and then sending me a new unit took almost 2 months.......Would have given them 5 stars if their process was faster

This the best so far. I have bought many like this with similar functions. Go for it.
