I'm 20, I have oily skin, and I live in a tropical country. That combination alone is already a challenge, but if you add walking under the sun between classes, classrooms without AC, and exam stress, the result is one thing: a face shine that looks like I buttered myself up. Literally. I urgently needed something to keep my makeup in place and control the shine without having to touch up every half hour. Something practical that I could carry in my backpack and apply quickly between classes. So when I saw this e.l.f. Matte Magic spray, I thought: "let's test this magic out." And girls, it actually worked. I use it in two ways: first, after my foundation and concealer, before powder. A couple of sprays and I feel like everything gets sealed with an invisible layer. Second, during the day, when I've been at college for hours and start looking a bit oily. I spray this over my makeup and poof! the shine disappears instantly. No weird residue, doesn't feel heavy, doesn't smell like alcohol, just leaves my skin with a matte finish without looking flat. The best part is that it refreshes. On those extremely hot days when I feel like my makeup is melting off my face, a couple of sprays of this and I feel revived. I've also used it alone, without makeup, when I want to control shine without clogging my pores. My honest review: it's small, fits in any bag, lasts all day, and delivers what it promises. If you have oily skin, are a college student, and are always on the go, this spray is your new best friend. Mine never leaves my backpack now.

I previously bought this on a whim, to have enough eligible items to qualify for next day delivery. I liked the description, because it claimed to be mattifying and long-lasting, which is the same claim of the $40 setting spray by a designer brand on which I had already wasted my money. I didn’t expect much because of the low price, and I’m not familiar with the brand. Just another reminder that expensive isn’t always better, and you can find great products with low prices. This setting spray has been working great, keeping my makeup fresh for hours. I have really oily, combination skin, so nothing has ever completely kept me completely matte all day, but this is decent. It definitely keeps eye shadow (and I love iridescent and glitter top coats) and eye liner in place, and takes half a second to spray a light mist to refresh your face. The photo I included was at the end of a long day where I drove from one side of the city to the other, and then down the shore, and then walking around the bay. The summer weather was hot and humid, and the ocean air had my hair blowing in my face, and all around felt pretty gross. However, looking at the photo, my makeup from that morning still looked ok! Easy, effective, good quality, low price!

Smells a little bit weird, it reminds me of hair gel or something, but I can deal with the smell. I tested a little bit of it out on the back of my hand with some concealer I bought as well. It’s not very sticky, and I’ve only had it on my hand for about 10 minutes so far, so that’s not long enough to judge the amount of time it will keep my makeup on, but I’m sure it will be a good setting spray. Surprisingly, my hand that has the setting spray on is actually really soft. I will for sure be using this in the future for school and stuff. It’s not very oily, and it’s a good, functional, and affordable product and I would recommend. Also one thing about the way I received it, I ordered this along with some lip gloss and concealer, and the items came with some sort of residue on them. It smelled like laundry detergent, and when I rinsed them off, there were soap bubbles, so maybe someone ordered laundry detergent or something and their package was next to mine and it leaked. I will still use the products regardless, because it’s literally soap. I’m not gonna whine about it, and all the products are still functional.

This product is really good and provides a super strong hold. It’s very affordable for the price and definitely not expensive—100% worth buying. It’s also very comfortable to use and dries quickly.

I LOVE this Elf Setting Spray! I always say that you don’t need to purchase those viral high-priced setting sprays when this one works just as well, if not better, than the super-expensive brands. Don’t get me wrong, I love Urban Decay and Rare Beauty, but I find that this ELF setting spray works just as well and lasts all day long. It’s easy to apply, long-lasting, doesn’t lead to midday melting, and doesn’t have much of a scent (the scent it DOES have is great). I've had no issues with skin irritation, stickiness, or oiliness. It gives my makeup a beautiful, long-lasting glow. I would definitely recommend this setting spray, especially if you’re trying to budget your makeup expenses (like I am!).

Have been using this for awhile now and honestly I would not recommend. It dries my skin out, not sure if im not supposed to set my face with powder if im using this, because when I spray it on it affects my makeup with dry patches, splotches of my concealer wear off, and the formula doesnt mix well with the setting powder I use apparently.

A little goes a long way for every day use. Dries quickly, and lasts the whole work day and evening. I was afraid the quality might not be great because of its low price, but have been pleasantly surprised! I will try more e.l.f. products!

Anteriormente había comprado este mismo fijador,pero en una presentación más pequeña. Esta presentación es el doble, y aunque al principio noté la diferencia de precio no me percaté del tamaño hasta que lo recibí. Definitivamente prefiero esta presentación que es el doble y su costo es mas justo. En cuanto a su calidad, lo super recomiendo, mi maquillaje si dura toda la tarde y me deja un aspecto humectado.

I’ve never used one of these before andi don’t know why because it does the job and does it well. I have oily skin so my makeup usually slides off my face by mid day but I sprayed this after my liquid foundation then applied powder and sprayed again and my makeup stayed on all day, also my skin didn’t look oily either. I’m so impressed I will definitely buy and recommend this !
