Great little mortar is perfect for grinding spices. Glad the instructions include directions on how to season this item before using it because many people aren’t aware that seasoning is required.

Exceptional quality
The quality is excellent and I would have given a 5 star had it not been for the 'seasoning' part. Out of the box you need to spend a significant effort working it so you don't get ground granite in whatever you are grinding. I expected it ready to go out of the box, it was not. I had considered returning it but after seasoning it for use it did do fairly with Saw Palmetto berries. It ground the outer shell enough for tea but the inner berries are like stone and it was almost impossible getting anywhere with them. For general grinding it will do very well - once you season it and ensure you don't get granite dust in your material.

So, you finally made it. It paid to be a reviewer viewer. Now you know that this stone bowl is what you're looking for. The following is my Can the cat knock this over? Mine hasn't. Not even splashing it out. Can she pick it up? Nope! Play with it like a toy? Not a chance. How heavy is it? Enough. Let's face it, to anyone that has bolted down the water dish....I get it. Glad I'm not there yet. Toodles. Most best amazing average sized cat proof water bowl!
