Hard to put down!
I have read many books by Sandra Brown over the years. They are always exciting. I've read CHILL FACTOR 4 times, always during the winter. I am just getting back into reading after a 3 year hiatus. HELLO, DARKNESS was the perfect thriller to hold my attention. In my opinion, it is the best of Sandra Brown's books that I have read. It was gripping and loaded with suspects! Of course, there was a romance involved as well! I love her style of writing and the way she blends different characters together! Definitely loved it!

one GREAT read
Intense, twisted, kept you guessing who the killer was & just when you thought you knew where the plot was going, it went somewhere else! A Great read, could not put it down.

Suspense as well as romance
Once the reader gets into the story you can’t stop trying to figure out who the murderer is. There are also some questions concerning Paris’ past. I recommend this book.

I liked what Sandra Brown did with this one
Hello Darkness, my old friend...oh wait...just Hello, Darkness. It's so hard not to sing the song with this title. Anywho, I liked what Sandra Brown did with this one. She was able to create five male suspects (well, maybe 2 of them were too weak to be the culprit but still) to keep me on my toes. Usually, I'm able to tell who the culprit is pretty early on. In this one, I had to wait until almost the end, to corroborate my suspicions. Paris Gibson moved to Austin looking for a new beginning. For a couple of years now, she has been doing a music radio show at night. She has developed a faithful and large audience. Paris loves her job. She's able to work almost alone and no one really knows who she is. She likes to wear glasses even in the dark. Her eyes are sensitive and the darkness is her friend. One night, a recurrent caller by the name of Valentino, tells her she's to blame for him kidnapping a young woman and in seventy-two hours, after raping her, he will kill her. Paris immediately seeks the help of the local police. She believes the threat of his listener and she wants to help in any way she can. What she was not expecting is to meet again a man from her past, Dean Malloy. Dean Malloy is a not only a cop, he's also a psychologist. Recently, his teenage son has moved in with him. but they are not seeing eye to eye. His son is rebellious and most of the time has a bad attitude. When Paris comes back into Dean's life, he knows his feelings for her never went away and he will do anything to protect her. Finding Valentino becomes his priority. Hello, Darkness had great suspense with a good built-in romance! I didn't approve of some of the things both main characters have done/doing but it didn't take away from me liking them both. I was glad they were able to have their second chance. As for the bad guy, like I said earlier, there were so many who could be Valentino. The big reveal had its own twist which surprised me. Sandra Brown proves once again, she knows how to write suspense novels. Cliffhanger: No 4/5 Fangs

Good book interested detective story but...anticipated.
This book was well written. The characters reminded me of those in Brown's "Mean Streak". I was able to figure out the ending, and that happened again with this novel. Sandra Brown's writing is engaging. Her characters are not without fault, even the "good" ones. She is not as talented as a first-class writer James Patterson. Compared to him, she's little league, but for entertainment value her books are ok. Overall a fun detective story. Not sure if I will be reading more by her, all depending on the plots. I like it when I cannot guess the ending. Maybe I'm getting better at this?

Fast paced and gripping. Couldn't get to put my Kindle down once I started with the story. Read it all in one go.

This is my second book by Sandra Brown and I have loved them both. The pace is relentless and you never know who the perpetrator is, even though you have your suspicions, until the very last. I cannot understand how I have not noticed these books before but, as I have, I am delighted. Yes, at times the story becomes slightly implausible, but as its just a brilliant, fast paced story, i overlook this totally. I highly recommend this book, and this author, to anyone who likes a really good mystery / thriller which keeps you guessing until the very end. Another huge 10/10.

Loved the suspense and interaction between main players. Could feel the emotion developing between the two as well as the interweaving emotions/suspense and fear from the other characters. The bad guy is good value, totally creeped me out. I love the 'realness' of the language, sort of things I would say, I really appreciate the humorous touches - even at the darkest hour, we can find or see something funny - for a book to work, it should be as real and natural as possible - this comes very close. If your a Linda Howard devotee you should add Sandra Brown to your list of must reads while waiting for Linda to write again.
