Glad I Bought It
I made some Damson jam with this machine and was very pleased with the outcome. You have to follow the recipe correctly to get the right results. If you like large bits of fruit in your jam this might not work, it produces a smooth jam as the fruit is chop up, I used my food processor for this, quite finely. I made 2 lots of jam and both batches were good. It was hassle free and the best bit no burnt pan at the end! Very easy to clean.

Leaves toxic flavouring in food
The concept of this product is brilliant, however the product has a flaw. The product has a plastic part inside to stir the jam. This product is heated to 100 degrees and when this happens it causes the jam to be flavoured like plastic. I believe any plastic product heated in such a way would do the same thing. You can't eat the jam unless you want to taste plastic. I think the plastic must be heated and released into the jam. The smell as someone else has mentioned in a review will never go because the plastic stirring utensil should be made of the same product that the pot itself is made of. Very poor, that who ever thought that plastic being heated to such a temperature would not cause a problem such as this, it's leaving toxic flavouring in your jams and jellies. Be mindful of this when buying this product.

Does not do what it is supposed to do
Useless and had to send it back. The pot does not get hot enough to thicken the jam.

Categorically cannot be used to make jam
This item is basically a pan that simmers fruit and sugar for about half an hour while stirring it. Making proper jam requires that the excess water be boiled off to thicken the jam to the desired consistency- something that this device isn't capable of doing. It can make stewed fruit, but that's it. If you want to make jam you need to use a saucepan on the hob for about an hour. These things are just ineffective gimmicks.

Nasty smell to my jam
What a waste money and of fruit and sugar as the jam has a strong, nasty smell of plastic from the stirrer despite washing everything before use.
