Great improvements
I was so excited when Sennheiser announced the MTW 2 few weeks ago, having been a fan of the brand for more than 10 years and having owned the 1st Gen for about a year. Just received my pair today and so far I really like them. They are smaller than the previous version including the case. It’s not a huge difference but you’ll still notice it. The previous pair used to hurt my ears after a while (1h or so) so I’m hoping this smaller design will help, time will tell. First impressions so far, they are comfier than the original version. Sound-wise, they are excellent. I’ve seen some videos where people suggest these sound different. I don’t think so. I think they might have changed the EQ setting by default because it felt like it was lacking bass a little but I tweaked it differently on the app than the 1st Gen and still managed to achieve the exact same sound. I’ve spent some time comparing the sound between the 2 and I love the 2nd Gen as much as the 1st Gen and I’m a musician so I’m really picky when it comes to sound. Call quality has been greatly improved, I think mainly due to the new added microphones. One feature I really like, surprisingly not mentioned on this page is Sidetone. It gives you the ability to hear your voice during a call. I’ve tested it and love it, so much better than the old version. The possibility the customise controls is one of the reasons why I decided to buy this new version. I’m one of these guys that can listen to a song on repeat so much if I really like it. So having to tap 3 times to play the previous song on the old version used to drive me mad. It wouldn’t work 50% of the time. I’ve now set it on 2 taps on the right earbud and it works like charm. Shame the controls still take about 2 seconds to initiate. I would have liked that to be improved on the new version. Active Noise Cancellation is a great addition too, I think it’s good in loud environments but for people like me that listen to music quite loud (70-90%) it’s less useful. I’m going to leave it turned off as it can drain the battery faster and turn it on only if I need it. One disappointment however, is the time it takes for these to connect to my phone. They take about twice the time than 1st Gen to connect, that's not good at all. I really hope it will be fixed in the next patches because at this price you should only get more not less. Overall really please with these. I’m glad I bought them even if they are very expensive. It might be worth the upgrade for some or not but I still think these are a great improvement compared to 1st Gen. Pros: - Sound as good as 1st Gen - Smaller size - Customisable controls - Better call quality - Sidetone feature - Longer battery life / no more draining in charging case - Active Noise Cancellation (good in loud environment) Cons: - Takes longer than 1st Gen to connect (1st Gen: 1-3 sec / 2nd Gen: 4-7 sec) - They still hurt after some time - Still a delay of 2 seconds to trigger each control - Still can’t connect to multiple devices at the same time - Would have been nice to include case battery percentage in the app - No wireless charging EDIT 17/04/20: Unfortunately they still hurt like 1st Gen after about 1h. I find that if you twist them up a little bit when it's sore it does help. I still love the sound though and I'm convinced that the sound remains the same or even better than 1st Gen providing you tweak the EQ a bit. It needs adding more bass than the previous version One thing I've also noticed is, despite the fact that you can't pair multiple devices at the same time, the earbuds do remember the last device they were connected to. Good thing if like me you often switch from your work computer / phone. No need to repair every time either, just disconnect from the device and connect to the other one. I haven't experienced a single disconnection, just some very short cut-off but very rarely and I've been walking around the flat no problem.

Excellent, get them when there is a deal
Having had momentum wired for some time, wanted to follow up with wireless. Sound quality is a good successor to those which I’m very happy with. A very natural, clear and broad range that feels authentic and balanced. If you are looking to spend top dollar then consider how and what music you listen to and what you like to hear. These are premium ear buds so you’ll be paying a lot more for those last few percent. However, that’s often is the difference with premium products. These were an instant hit for me. Battery seems good. Controls are fine for me and i was surprised how I got used to them, they have a good touch feel and didn’t feel it resolved particularly laggy. Comfortable in the ear for long periods. Only gripe is to find the right fitting with the silicone buds, which is obviously a personal thing as this is essential to sound quality. However that’s not a comment against these, more that you may need to try other sizes beyond those supplied. I considered the AirPods Pro 2 but the stem wasn’t something I wanted. The sound quality of momentum 2 is better and I think when apple replaces the stem they will look a bit silly so I wanted avoid if I could. Price- I didn’t pay rrp , closer to a few hundred and that put it into AirPod pro 2 territory and then it was no contest. Not sure I could pay top whack though. Case is fine and the ear phones snap in nicely. Wasn’t completely blown away by the active noise cancelling but it’s good enough. I’m told I should listen with more volume when out to get lost out of ANC but we’ll see. If they last then they will be worth it. My momentum wired are still going after about 5 years so I hope these continue for many years too.. EDIT: After a few weeks, couple of extra points - - The fit is the hardest things to get right and is obviously a personal thing as everyone's ears different. You need the right fit in the ear cavity (different size tips supplied) and then the way the body of the ear piece sits on the ear. Some twisting to find the right angle is often required. It takes time to find this and some people may not be suited I'd suggest. However, if you persevere and it fits, the rewards are worth it. - I mentioned these felt like a follow on to the wired momentums. Now got used to these more and they have perhaps got going, they are in fact a quantum leap forward. The sound quality is in my opinion, faultless. I'm more than happy with the delivery. - The noise cancelling is better than I'd originally reviewed, due to getting more precise fitment but if you are outside, you will need an appropriate volume used to counter the loud noises. Overall, if you get a good fit I can't see how you'll be disappointed. Having bought high quality audio - speakers, sub woofers, amps, the best ones always last better and you'll be forever paid back with true audio quality which is well worth initial higher investments. Enjoy!

Price tag is a big NO, sound quality is a big YES
Hello everyone, This review is for the: 'Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 2' I'm saying this just in case because Amazon likes to mix up reviews, and you never know what review you are actually looking at, and what product they are talking about. Plus most of them are Bots that Amazon uses to fill up the review section with fake 5 star reviews. Now let's talk about the earplugs. About the product, I see a lot of people saying that they are bad, that they are not premium, they are not good for calls, the microphone is garbage, and so on and so on. I'm going to try and break down what people have said in the reviews so I can make your life easier so you can decide if you are going to buy these earbuds or not. - Quality of earbuds: It's plastic... plastic is as good as plastic can be, I like how some people say metal or some other material is more premium, people this thing goes in your ear, you do NOT want something that weighs too much in your ear, trust me. - Comfort: Here is what I notice, I had the bad habit of pushing in deep the earphones into my ear so they would never come off because I kept having issues with earphones coming off. If you do this with these earplugs you will feel a lot of discomfort, but if you put them in your ear gently then you will have no discomfort at all, they are so comfortable that you even forget you have them in your ears. Plus, they never come off, no matter how much you shake your head or jump up and down, these things refuse to come out of your ears unless you do it by hand. - Quality of sound: I'll be truthful here because this is why we are all here, do these things sound good? When I tried them out for the first time I couldn't tell the difference between these earbuds that cost me £186.00 and some earphones that cost me £20.00, so I started to worry and I thought I made a bad decision in buying these. I checked the application on my phone that you can get through the Play Store and I played around with the settings, turning on and off settings I needed and didn't need. I tried out the earbuds again after playing around with the settings and honestly I was surprised by how much the sound changed, it went from a big "Meh..." to "Holly crap, these sound so good!". I don't know if other people get this feeling or if it's just me, I put these earbuds on at work, started doing my job while listening to my music and I felt like I was in a different world, another dimension, I don't know how to explain it, but in short, while I was working my brain was not at work, it was somewhere away dancing to the music. Personally, I only use them for music when I'm at work or doing some other activity that requires no human interaction like walking, jogging e.t.c For me these are a 10/10 when it comes to sound quality. - Sound isolation: The sound isolation is quite good, just by putting these earbuds in your ears even if they are not playing any sound all other sounds are cut off by ...I would say 60-70%. You can for sure hear others speaking to you but not so well, if someone is trying to talk to you while you have a sound playing then you will never hear them, the person talking to you would have to come to you and tap your shoulder to get your attention. These earbuds have really good sound isolation so it's a 10/10. - Microphone: I've heard better, I have no use for it but it's there, and I can use it if I ever need it. The person on the other side can hear me quite well, so I guess the microphone is okay. Probably a 6.5/10, I've heard way better microphones and on cheaper earphones. If phone calls is what you are going for, then these are not for you. You won't be disappointed but you won't be pleased, especially for the price you are paying. Personally, I use my phone's microphone because nothing can really beat that. - Connectivity: Oh boy, this one was one of my biggest concerns because a lot of people will confuse you and write so many different things about these specific earplugs and how the connection is bad in general or it's bad while outside or its bad when in a different room and e.t.c It's all garbage, people seriously need to get a hobby, stop hating on these earbuds for no reason. I've used them during work. I've used them while I'm home. I've used them while having a long walk outside. I've used them while running. Hell... I even went from the parking lot to the supermarket, did my shopping, and went back to the car, and only then did I realize that I never actually took my phone with me and the earbuds played music non-stop without having any interruptions whatsoever. Is the connection good? You tell me after reading what I said. - Bettery: Eh... battery is okay, it's not the best and it's not the worst. It could be better for sure, but it is what it is. If you play music on 60%/80% volume while having specific settings enabled you get at best 5 maybe 6 hours out of them. Now if you have the volume on full blast 100% you will get less hours out of your battery, but here is a positive, the earbuds case works as a powerbank that charges up the earbuds, giving you let's say 6 hours (fully charged earbuds) + 21 hours (with dully charged case) = 27 Hours in total. So basically you will need to occasionally charge them, it only takes about 20-30 minutes for them to completely charge, maybe even less, I never really sat down to count the minutes. When I'm at work I use them while working, when I go on brake I put them in to charge, and when I'm back at work they are back at 100% battery. That's good enough for me, can't complain here either. - Value for the money: Should you buy these earbuds for fullprice? No, hell no. Should you buy these earbuds on sale? No, again, hell no. These earbuds cost to much, I got them for £186.00. That really hurt... I won't lie. But I was desperate since at work people listen to music that is literally torture to me, no matter how many times I said to them to lower the volume or listen to something else or put on a pair of earphones they would refuse and tell me that this is REAL music. So I was desperate, and I was looking for earbuds, something wireless since I own a Samsung s21 which has no earphone jack... I did a lot research and I read a lot of reviews which confused the living c*** out of me since everyone says different things about everything. I found these in the end and it took me 4 days to actually make the final decision to get them. The only reason it took me 4 days to make that decision was the price tag, £186.00 on sale, £250.00 without sale... the hell am I buying, gold? No, they are NOT worth the money. At best these are £100.00, that's it. If you want to get them on a sale £186.00 or full price £250.00... you will feel a punch to the gut. - Conclusion: Should you buy them? Well.. 7/10 of the features of these earbuds are worth it. The price though... my lord... I can't recommend them only because of the price tag. But if you decide to get them, then you won't be disappointed in the product but in your self for allowing your self to buy these. That's it folks, the decision to buy them or not is yours. I've shared my fair part about these earbuds, have a good day to you all.

My other half loves Sennheiser products and loves these even if the battery life isn't great!
Other half says these are superb, clarity and mid range are sweet and crisp, not over powering and the bass is just right, not too boom boom and full of heavy bass it's a nice balance which compliments the mid range and the crispness of the treble/tops!! The fit is nice too he says and not heavy in the ear or feels like it will drop out of the ears. However, everyone has different ear fits, so where this is good for him may not be good for someone else but they do come with 3 sets of changeable rubber ear buds. Tested against the Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones & Bose QuietComfort Noise Cancelling Earbuds as he wanted the best there was for ongoing future regular use at the time of purchase. He did not like the Sony's from the off as they were too heavy in the ears alone and over powering on the bass, the treble on the Sony's didn't match up with the Sennheiser's treble and clarity, however, not bad he says but again this might appeal to a younger section of the market, 20 to 35yrs old or so...... as the bass comes through much more. The Sony's & Bose's do cancel out the noise better than the Sennheiser's he advises. The Bose's just kept falling out of the ears, however, he says it would be a close decision of they did fit, what would he have gone for the could have been the Bose as they were really nice and clean in all departments but the let down is, they just kept falling out of his ears with minimal movement from the head. He's used Sennheiser's most of this life in various other forms, so you do tend to go for what you know about. He advises it's a shame as he would have gone for the Bose's if they didn't just fall out as he felt they just had the slight edge if he's honest. Bottom line though, it all boils down to personal preference and how loud or not too loud you like your music in ears. Sennheiser's are for the music connoisseur and he says should more appeal to the over 40's in his opinion given the balance of nice bass and clean clarity of the treble that comes through, which is a perfect balance for him. Update: 3rd Jan 2023 On constant use, they do give about 4 hrs to 4hrs 15 hours tops then a recharge is needed, the advertised 7 hours before a recharge needed, No way near!! Still clean sounding as ever he advises, did update to the latest firmware, 4.10_ _ _ - this seemed to kill the Bluetooth connectivity, with some patience they eventually Re-Paired with the Tablet, Phone and PC he uses them with but was a concern as before the update they connected straight away without any issue. Updates huh? We would not be surprised if they are there to hinder a product rather than improve in many cases - this is only an expressed opinion from experience. He says there are no noticeable difference with the update, so if you don't need it and your earbuds are working well, AVOID THE UPDATES, In some cases they ruin a perfectly good product, which happened to our still mint Philips 2.1 Cinema soundbar, Philips refuse to admit liability and now we have a Brick of a Soundbar. Philips make up excuse after excuse and we will have to get it fixed by a specialist as it's a brilliant soundbar. Point being made here is, he has experienced what updates can do to an expensive product and his heart sank when it could not Pair the Sennheiser's with ease!

The Audiophiles Choice
Ok, so with massive thanks to Amazon for allowing me to try these against the apple airpod pros, Galaxy Buds Live and Sony WMX ??3 (or whatever, you know the ones!) Tried them all for comfort, noise control, ANC, feel (build quality) and finally, most importantly, sound quality I'll keep it short, but feel; all joint winners. They're all well made, nice cases and decent battery Fit, Galaxy buds are easily a winner, you hardly know you're wearing them. Airpods and Senhesisers in joint second, and a disappointing last is Sony. They're quite bulky in terms of in-ear cans. Noticeably heavier too Onto ANC, clear losers are the Galaxy Buds Live. They're open backed so we kinda expected that, but the ANC was so subtle as to be unnoticeable in my testing. The airpods are superb, right accros the frequency range they were effective, slightly pipped by the Senhesiser, which in turn was slightly pipped by the Sony's. Blissful silence from the Japanese on this one. 10/10 So, surely most importantly is the audio quality? Now, notwithstanding that sound 'quality' is quite subjective hear goes (see what I did there 😊) The Galaxy buds are bright and clear, a joy to listen to. The Airpods on their own sound ok, but as soon as you put them along side any meaningful competition it's almost embarrassing for them, they're muddy and really struggle. Alas they're a clear last, and I mean by a good distance! The Sony's are superb, no more no less. The Senhesisers are in a different league. They're easily as good as 90% of the top end over ear headphones out there, and unless you've owned any high end headphones these will likely be the best things you'll have heard. They're balanced, bright, bassy and have a huge soundstage. The app allows a meaningful amount of EQ'ing and you can assign any communication of taps to the sides to do pretty much any function, nice touch! I now pick these up over my Boss 700 or Sony WX4s (both superb over ears) If you bought any of these you'd be happy with them, they're all great packages, but if you can only buy one then trust me the Senhesiser is the one to go for. (I appreciate it's the dearest but that wasn't my concern on this test) And best of all my cat loves them too Well recommended

The Good & the Bad...!
I have owned dozens of earphones over the years from inexpensive wired sports phones to high end custom fit monitors. I still maintain many of them as they have their uses, it depends what you need them for - there isn't a perfect ear (or head) phone for all occasions. Those of you looking at these Sennheisers are after some convenient buds to use on the move and when exercising (otherwise you would have settled for the much cheaper Sonys by now) and want some noise cancellation and decent sound quality and functionality. So what will you get? Sound Quality: Ok, I won't bore you with clarity, bass, soundstage, etc. Suffice to say the official reviews on these are right on this respect; the sound quality is excellent (best I've heard in wireless earphones so far, certainly better than the AirPods pro and the sonys). Comfort: Excellent - very good fit (for me at least), light and never at risk of falling out. Controls: These are ok, easy to learn and they work, you can even control the volume, which is not universal on this market. However, it is easy to permanently stop the music by inadvertently touching the Smart assistant activation control. Annoying! Case: Good shape, size and feel; although see comments below under 'battery life'. Noise cancellation: Passive NC is good if you get a good fit like me. Active NC adds little to nothing. To make things worse, the earphones give you no real feedback of what mode you are in when switching between them and the app won't tell you either! It matters little anyway, as both in use at the gym and testing them at home with 'white noise' in the background, you could not normally tell when ANC was coming on or off no matter what the level of internal or external volume! Transparency mode is also very poor, in more ways than I care to go into... Exercise: Unfortunately, I was not able to use these for exercise (which was the main reason for buying them), due to the following reasons: 1. Poor ANC as above made them less than optimal at the gym (ok, better than my previous sports buds, my trusted original Jabra Elite Sport True Wireless [which for their time were exceptional btw], but for the extra cash and the extra 3-4 years of waiting, the improvement was very disappointing to say the least). 2. Unable to take any calls in noisy environments (see below). 3. When running, I got a loud thumping noise with these as if they were jumping about in my ears (despite the good fit)! This would stop if I wore a hood or anything lightly touching the external surface of the buds. Battery: Battery life seems ok, although you can never tell where you are, as you have to press a button at the back of the case which makes a light virtually always flush orange (which would mean that you should charge the case). My old Jabras will automatically tell you with separate lights the levels of charge of each bud and the case itself every time you put them inside so you know whether the buds will charge from the case or you need to charge the latter (again I emphasise this is a product I bought 4 years ago, almost first of its kind, water resistant, HR monitor, excellent sound and half the price on Amazon offers!) Phone calls: I am afraid here these were a disaster, at least with an iPhone. It seems that when a call comes in, they automatically switch to transparency mode. This in itself is bizarre, as you would expect the opposite to happen in order to be able to hear and be heard better during a conversation, especially in a noisy environment. In well designed products (eg AirPods pro) the transparency mode will allow only voices to come through at normal volumes and good clarity. These will allow everything in, distort it and multiply the volume at least 3-fold, which means that even in a slightly noisy environment, taking a call is impossible. I am not sure if transparency mode activation was just an issue with my buds that were faulty, as everything else was working fine for months, however, a few weeks ago, more problems developed when taking calls. The buds would ring, but calls would not be transferred to them whatever I did. I would answer on the buds but the call would go to my iPhone 11. If I then took the buds out to use the phone, the buds would terminate the call..! I followed technical advice, reseting and updating the buds, but this just made the right and left one unable to find with each other again. Luckily, I had bought from Amazon, who despite the 6 months lapsed since my purchased, accepted return with their usual excellent customer service. I've had the Sennheiser over ear ANC M3s as well (not bought here) and I found those sounding great too, but had glitches with playing music from various iOS devices. I wouldn't buy any more Sennheiser products. The sound is very good, but not worth it for the functionality/reliability issues.

The best sound I have ever heard.
I don't write many reviews but I was almost put off buying these by some of the negative reviews and the issues they mentioned. I would have missed out on an absolutely incredible product so I want to share my experience so far (after 5 days of use) and address some of the issues raised by others. First of all: The sound. In short: It's the best music has ever sounded to me (outside of a live performance) I am not a big audiophile but I shelled out for a very good pair of over the ears headphones for home use a while ago. The Momentum Wireless 2 are better by a margin that I didn't think was possible. There is so much depth and richness to every piece of music that I Iisten to that I'm hearing details and little surprises in songs I've known for decades. On one of the first days of using them, the drums came in on some bombastic sounding piece of movie music and I turned my head because it sounded to real and close. My music preferences are rock, classical, metal and a bit of EDM and any song I've listened to in these genres has come to new life. It's been a week of rediscovering my whole music library. Connection: I've seen some people complain about this so I was apprehensive but the bluetooth connection seems to be fantastic. I walked around the house and even in a different room, with the door closed, the music came through uninterrupted. They do take about a second longer to connect than my previous headphones. Battery life: So far no problems. I listen to hours of music during the day but rarely more than one or two hours in one sitting. Placing the headphones in the case charges them and at home you can just hook the case up to a charger. Not sure how long they would last away from a possibility to charge the case at night though. Comfort: I've heard some people compain that these hurt their ears. I have small ears and usually need to use the smallest headphone attachment provided. The Momentum 2 fit me perfectly straight out of the box. I can feel them a bit more than the previous pair I was using (which was much lighter but had nowhere near the same sound quality) but it never gets to the point where it is uncomfortable or even painful. Phone calls: Works great. Even with a face mask on, and when talking in public, people can understand me without issue. There is some kind of neat feature that activates during calls, that lets you hear whats going on around you. One of these days I'll play around with the app to see whether you can activate that while listening to music. Noise cancellation: Haven't tried it yet. The headphones already block out almost all surrounding sound so I can't even imagine how noisy my environment would have to be for me to want to activate noise cancellation. In short: Buy these and be amazed!

If you’ve got iphone go for the AirPod pro
I had such high hopes for these headphones as I have had Sennheiser products all my life. I don’t know where to start really with these, The sound quality is very good listening to music however the Bluetooth connection is nowhere near as reliable as the AirPods to the point of being very unstable. Every time I ended the call with it lost the Bluetooth connection and the only way it would reconnect would be putting it back in the case and getting them out again which is not ideal when you are driving. The other thing I found out if you can only use the right-hand ear bud for calls as the left hand doesn’t have a microphone which means if you’re making a lot of calls on these which I was the right hand is going to be burnt out way quicker than the left hand. Not only that but the batteries are not replaceable when they do go after a couple of years I emailed Sennheiser about this just to confirm. Not great when you are paying £240 for A set of these, people on the other end of the phone said the AirPods were a lot clearer for making calls, also connect in like one second and never lose connection. I think replacement batteries are around £90 from Apple after a couple of years which again isn’t cheap but a damsite cheaper than replacing the whole lot. Massively underwhelmed with these momentum 2’s. as they were out of the 30 day return period I sent them back for repair and came back exactly the same. The only thing to come out of this any good was Amazon’s great customer service. After the repair I said I didn’t want them back and they sent me a gift card and I returned them as faulty. Poor product in my experience not worth the money but fair play to Amazon.
