Smells amazing when making Chai (Chai in Hindi means "Tea"). Tastes good, strains good. What more can you ask? If you normally make Indian Tea you are aware you need a super fine strainer for preparing this tasty tea, for those who are have not made Indian tea, please kindly take notice to have a super fine metal tea strainer when making this delicious tea. Our family chai Recipe: 1 1/2 - 2 cups water 2 teaspoons Society tea (a little more if you like it strong) 2 cardamom pods (crushed or opened so seeds come out but keep the shell too) 1 teaspoon of freshly grated or crushed ginger (can use 1/4 teaspoon of powdered ginger if desired) Boil the tea with all the ingredients above. Once the flavors are well mixed together turn tea down to low (3 or 4 on the dial if using a ceramic stovetop. This is a very IMPORTANT step-we do not want the tea to boil over once milk is added. Very difficult to clean). Next we will add the milk. 2-3 cups milk. Then we can simmer for 10 to 15 minutes (If you want it done faster then turn the heat higher and watch closely and turn down when it starts to boil and then turn it up to boil and turn it down, etc etc a few times until the consistency is to your preference but stay at your stove and be diligent). After tea has simmered you can strain to each cup allowing guest to add sugar (or preferred sweetener) to their taste. You can add sugar at the beginning if making the tea sweet to your taste. This tea is very good for brewing. There is no bitter taste to it. It is pretty strong and has a good flavor and smell to it. This tea is enjoyable with or without milk. I have brewed this tea for 1-2 minutes and have found no bitter taste when I drink it with milk, and when I drink it with just hot water I put it in the hot boiling water allow it to brew a few seconds and decant, this tea releases a lovely flavor. I have bought it again.

Took a long time to get this order. The price is almost 2 times what you would pay at your local Indian grocery store. Not worth buying from Amazon. Not very good value for money! But it depends .... therefore one extra star for convenience. The $12 CTC mamri at Amazon has a better flavor and aroma IMO.
