Puts out fires with less mess

WHEN YOU HAVE A FIRE, IT WORKS
I purchased this extinguisher in 2016. A couple of weeks ago I was working in my garage using a Small torch with a MAP gas cylinder when the torch suddenly burst into a ball of fire. I dropped the torch and grabbed this extinguisher. I pulled the pin, aimed the tip and pulled the handle. TWO short busts and the flame from the bottle was instantly OUT. Wow. I was fascinated at how well it put the fire out. Luckily no damage to the torch and no residue to clean up.

Looks impressive! Good Wall Bracket! Amerex Halotron Rocks!
Looks impressive! Halon and Halotron extinguishers are fantastic in fighting fires without leaving a huge powdery mess to clean up. The year of manufacture is stamped on the bottom of all fire extinguishers now, and they should be refilled or replaced after 10 years have passed, regardless of the indicator on the pressure gauge. Free Shipping? - Yes! Quick Arrival? - Yes! Nice wall mounting bracket? - Yes! Have I tested it out on a real fire yet? - No! Expensive? - Yes! You might perform an internet search and find this extinguisher at lower prices elsewhere, but shopping at Amazon made life a little easier. For the next ten years I will have the peace of mind that if I do experience a home fire, I will be prepared with this Amerex HALOTRON fire extinguisher!

Great idea and little clean up
I love the no or little clean up not like the CO2 powder types that could take days or weeks to clean up afterwards and make more mess than the fire many times, if you like cleaning big messes use the old type fire Extinguisher ,it guarantees a big mess, but for house or car this is the way to go, but follow the safety guidelines for using this type, could be hard on your lungs, like Halon does

Worth the extra cost for a clean agent! Great quality!
Great quality and the price is right. Hopefully I never need it but I will not be as worried using on my expensive lab equipment when I do.

Halotron fire extinguishers leave no messy residue
I bought this Amerex Halotron fire extinguisher to spray into my long clothes dryer vent in case of a dryer fire. Since I haven't used it yet ( fortunately) , my overall rating is based on how I expect it to work , and on the appearance of the design and construction. Although this extinguisher is rated at 5 lb. , the sturdy construction makes it quite a bit heavier , and for use in awkward positions, you might consider the lighter extinguisher rated at 2.5 lb.

Shipped the wrong extinguisher
The extinguisher I received looks nothing like the illustration. The wrong extinguisher was shipped. I just now found out how wrong it was. I needed the halotron and got a liquid kitchen extinguisher. It is chromed and has a hose instead of a spout. No bracket, just a hook to hang it on the wall.

I did my homework and chose this one for kitchen use
The cheaper sodium bicarbonate powder versions leave a corrosive mess, that you have to clean up fast before it ruins the finish on your expensive appliances. This one is a gas so there is no residue. Use this for kitchen, computers, electronics in general. Use the cheaper powder ones for your garage or other areas of the house, or outside the house. I bought both versions after seeing rioters throwing molitov cocktails during "peaceful" protests, (yeah, who are the media trying to fool? We can see for ourselves.)
