very good
Due to the generosity of Amazon, I tried to return this order and reorder a higher priced meter, Amazon just refunded and said keep it. I had already ordered the higher priced meter, so now I have one of each version meter from ACCU-CHEK, as for the meter performance, I have two other cheap MFG glucose meters, I was very disappointed in the readings from these meters, not only did they never agree with each other, testing several times in a row with the same sample source resulted in wildly different results, now with 2 ACCU-CHEK meters the results on both meters agree with each other 100% or sometimes with in 1 or 2 points difference, I'm a retired engineer, my whole carrier has been dealing with exact results when testing equipment, this tells me I can trust the results from the ACCU-CHEK meters. I should have done my research before I bought the first cheap meters. the ACCU-CHEK meters deserve the outstanding reviews I have read, and believe me, I'm an expert when dealing with instrumentation.

GUIDE ME truly makes checking blood sugar easier
This is a newer version of the meter I have used for years. THIS IS TRULY SIMPLE! Set up is already done for you. Batteries are in, the date and time have already been entered. The meter gives quicker results after the finger prick. The meter is even lighter weight.than the one I used for over ten years

Nice, but Accessory Concerns
Nice easy to use bluetooth device that can be used with a recommended blood sugar logging app, but there are accessory concerns! Please know that there is no lancing device or lancets in the kit! While the product image on the site shows all of the kit items, I incorrectly assumed that the box contained the lancing device and lancets. 😳 You need to buy those items separately. There are plenty of test strips, however.Another disappointment is that the carrying/travel case is very flimsy. The case is spacious but offers very little protection from accidental drops. I found an older cushioned carrying case for the meter and accessories and plan to throw the one that came in the kit away.In conclusion, with the kit costing over $100, a cushioned accessory carrying/travel case should be included. Also, it would be a good idea if the Amazon site expressly mentions that the lancing device and lancets are sold separately for this kit.

Work great for me.
I have had great luck with Roche products. For years I used the Aviva Plus meters with few problems and great manufacturer support. When they were discontinued my insurance suggested another meter. I ordered one and it did not support alternate site testing. I contacted Roche and found this Guide Me meter does support AST, but you do have to contact the manufacturer to receive an AST cap for the lancing device. They supply it at no cost, but you have to wait a few days for it to arrive. The lancing device is the same “Softclix” as the Aviva Plus meter. The meter is pretty easy to use, but does seem to time out if I take too long to get a blood sample. The required sample size is very small.I saw that some other reviews mentioned the hard sided plastic case. I did not like it either after struggling to open it and finding it was upside down, and spilling the contents when I finally got it to open. I cured that problem by using a silver metallic marker to write “OVER” on the bottom. After using it for a few days I became accustomed to it and actually ordered another meter BECAUSE it included the case. I prefer the older larger test strips and their container because my 73 year old hands don’t have the dexterity to easily handle the smaller strips and containers. But I do see the advantage of the much smaller case.

Far too complicated for such a simple task.
I like nothing about this product. I have been a type 2 diabetic for 40 years and could almost test my blood sugar blindfolded until I bought the Accu-Chek. I just spent 3 weeks in the hospital and they checked my sugar about 4 times a day. Like my equipment at home, theirs was very simple. When I got released from the hospital I decided to modernize my test equipment so bought the Acc-Chek. First of all the instructions are like asking a PHD in physics from China to write a multi-page instruction booklet on how to use a hammer or a screwdriver. Why? I end up with test results about one in four attempts.

Good to know your blood sugar
First off, I am not diabetic, but have several diabetic friends. I am 52, healthy, active, swim 6 days a week for 30 minutes. I have bad habits when it comes to sugar and wanted to see the effects of sugar at home. In addition, I just wanted a baseline for today. So, I called my friend, he recommended this device.I am so happy I purchased this, I purchased the strips separately. So, for roughly $35, I started testing my blood sugar. The hardest part by far is generating the courage to stick my finger, but it doesn't hurt, it is definitely a mental obstacle to be overcome. I tested when I woke up, before a meal, after a meal. My numbers are solid as a rock! I am very happy that I purchased this.It is easy to use, there is a "pen" for drawing one drop of blood, the strip goes in the machine then touches the drop of blood, and TADA! The number appears on the screen.I have used it 4 times so far, just to see where I am at, and everything is good. For those of you just investigating, it is well worth it. $35 for Accutech or $500 to visit the doctor and answer the very same question. Of course, this is one small part of a diabetic assessment, and I am not saying to not go to your doctor if you have suspicions, for $35 though? Who can argue with the piece of mind I have found just checking my blood sugar and getting an answer within seconds. Lots of folks are diabetic and prediabetic, thankfully, I am not one. Catch it early, and there is hope to reverse prediabetes through diet and exercise. This unit will help me check now whenever I want. Thank you!
