So a little disappointed and wouldn't recommend this make of Dictionary (Merriam Webster Chinese English) to future buyers wanting to learn a language, there are far better publications to be looked seriously at. I find the Merriam-Webster’s Chinese-English Dictionary to be a reliable dictionary. It contains many examples despite its compact size. Bigger dictionaries will obviously offer more entries and examples but this dictionary answers most of my language needs. It provides good explanations on the language and sheds light on some of the grammar aspects. Definitions are clearly delineated under entries with several meanings or usages. I would recommend it up to a solid intermediate level. To revise characters and learn some others, this dictionary is enough but you will assuredly need a bigger one to build a stronger vocabulary or deal with Mandarin at an upper level. I use it alternatively with the Collins dictionary.
