Beautiful leather string. Sadly, it is too large of a gauge from my use. I look forward to getting a 2 mm.

I will say that this product is not a continuous cord, as others have mentioned here as well. While that is true, I am primarily making small lanyards with this cord, and the fact that is breaks off into consistent lengths is not really a bad thing at all for me, especially since the length it produces works quite well for most of the designs that I prefer to use for my knots and my beads. That being said, the leather itself is quite good, though not exceptional quality. It holds together extremely well where the splices are not an issue, and the strength of the cord itself is not an issue for me at all, even when making very tight and strong knots. I like the product quite a lot personally, though it may not be the same for every other person, and I certainly do think that some people might not like it because of the splices. Overall, for my use, it is a 4/5. For other people, it is an instance where you might want to look at another product if you need something with consistent strength along the entirety of a length greater than about 8" (on my sample of this product).

Used these to make leather lanyards for knives. It worked out great for that application. The leather was thick and the color was exactly what I was looking for. They smelled like leather, no other funky odors. The thickness was even throughout the length of the leather, which was important for me. I did not notice any weak spots, thin spots or torn spots.

This looks nice and was sized accurately (4mm) but there is little top grain left in the leather. Most of the material is loose and weak. I tried this out to make some laces for a pair of boots. The top layer quickly chaffed/cracked and then they broke under light tension. The 5 yards was enough to make 2 pairs of laces, but so far I have broken 2 after only a few weeks of use. It looks like it would make a good boot lace, but this is not the case. To be fair, it is not advertised for this application, though it is identified as "Heavy Duty" - it is medium to light duty as far as I am concerned. For more decorative applications I think this material would be fine. The color was consistent and sizing even.

Have a travel 3 legged stool which had a broken leather lace. This leather not only was supple and strong enough to easily replace the broken lace it even was a good match fo the other laces - bonus!

革の質は大変良いと思います。 しかし、厚すぎるため編むには向いてないです。さらに、革自体もかなり固いので、なおさら向いてません。ミンクオイルでしっかり柔らかくしましたが、それでも編みにくいので注意が必要です。

とても風合いが良かったです。 酒袋で作ったサコッシュに使用しましたが色もぴったりでした。 お手頃価格で、また購入したいお品です。
