IGGY (the Iggster) POP
I have Lust for Life album, but I wanted to start a new collection of my albums ( CD's). I did enjoy having a double disc.

Here Comes Success
This album represents part of a curious cycle of work for Iggy Pop. From the implosive and drug-fueled self-destructive brilliance of Iggy and Stooges "Raw Power" to the solo album "The Idiot" stands a big gap where Iggy had to confront his demons, get past himself and find his footing."The Idiot" and "Lust for Life" are two albums that are indeed a study in contrast. Many complain that "The Idiot" is mostly a Bowie album, but really it is in my mind a cathartic moment where Iggy moves beyond the scary junkie trash aesthetic that Johnny Thunders and others succumbed to and begins to write really good songs that can be separated from Iggy's own performance. Bowie covered "China Girl" partially to help Iggy out financially, but also because it is a great song. This album is part of that recovery cycle, where Iggy is ebullient, clean, taking his vitamins and working out. The album cover screams that.Iggy is doing some serious Jim Morrison channeling in "The Passenger" - in singing voice, style of song and as someone pointed out - even in his lyrics. There was a period after Jim Morrison's death where the rest of the Doors considered Iggy as his replacement, and here is why. It would have been interesting, but on the other hand I am glad he didn't do it.I don't have to write about the title track because everyone has heard it many times. "Fall in Love With Me" is one of my favorites - an almost rambling plea that feels so authentic. "Neighborhood Threat" is in more familiar ground thematically. The album, unlike others in Iggy's earlier canon - is a songwriter's showcase. When I listen to "Raw Power" now it is apparent that he had this and other albums in him.Well worth owning.

Still one of the best albums of all time
I've owned this absolutely classic album on cassette and compact disc from back in the day but they got lost along the way, perhaps stolen by roommates with inferior music taste until I came into their life. Nice to finally have it back and packaged together with the brutal and totally entertaining "T.V. Eye Live 1977" album. A good purchase for newcomers to Iggy. If you already own this in a previous iteration, no need to buy this one.

4 Men With Beards does is again!
This is a great Iggy Pop LP lead by the title song and my favorite The Passenger. Most of the songs make this album worth adding to your collection.

Great Reissue of an album ahead of its time
This is a great reissue of a classic period when David Bowie produced Iggy Pop. Highlights include the title track, “Success”, “Tonight”, and “Neighbored Threat”. This album was ahead of its time. The Deluxe Edition comes with the live album TV Eye which showcases tracks from the album along with other tracks from Iggy’s Stooges.

Two Legends on One Album? Yes please...
This is one of two Iggy's collaborations with David Bowie, and just after his split with The Stooges, and before the whole 80s electronica-meshed mumbo jumbo. It's a perfect time to catch the Godfather of Punk. It's got the same raw aggressive edginess from before, blended with the whole freedom of venturing out further. Bowie's presence couldn't be more accommodating. Offering his signature style of weaving melodies and direction. Basically single-handedly replacing The Stooges entirely. This is classic, essential Iggy Pop. YOU MUST BUY THIS.

Surprisingly OK vinyl edition. Satisfactory.
Rainbo Records, who pressed this edition, has a low average to bad reputation pressing vinyl, especially from the 90s on. This is one of their better efforts. Four Men also has an iffy reputation. I was surprised to find that is above average. Originals of this album are costly. This will satisfy me. Avoid the earlier back vinyl of this and The Idiot from FMWB.

Lust for Pop!
The quick follow up to The Idiot (only 5 months apart) this isn't part two of the aforementioned album. The melodies are lighter, the beat heavier but the lyrical theme remains similar. Iggy's singing is, as a result, more energetic and dramatic.Again the re-mastering is excellent, catching some of subtleties particularly in the keyboards and backing vocals. The Idiot and Lust For Life are bookends and these reissues are worthy of Iggy and Bowie (sorry I tried really hard not to mention David; couldn't help it).

ソロイギーの代表作『欲情』~Lust For Life~
