Exactly what you need to get started if you’re serious.
Great info and INSTRUCTION. I bought another book that was way too general. This gives you real knowledge, with great calculations. The section on guiding is indispensable. The author explains what the settings and graphs in PHD2 mean and do.My only gripe, costing it a star is that the software references are pretty dated. A section on GIMP would be great, since it’s free.

I wish I could get my money back
I really do wish I could get my money back. I thought I was buying a book on the basics of astrophotography. Absolutely no mention of what Bins, flats, bias, darks, or light files are. The book is not much more advance than - "The sky is above you, point camera at the sky and click the shutter." O.K. I am being a little harsh. I suppose, if I were teaching science in an elementary school, and a student expressed an interest in astrophotography, this might be the correct book for them.
