didnt fix my issue entirely, but is a fine cable otherwise
Cable seems fine, it improved the freezing I was experiencing on my webcam when it would autofocus, but it didnt stop it entirely. I dont think thats the fault of the cable though. otherwise, it seems to be made of OK materials, and seems to be well made enough that im not afraid to leave it plugged in at least.

Fixed My Astro A50 Charging Issue
Astro A50s are known to have an unfortunate charging issue with their docks. I own a Gen 4 A50, and the dock stopped charging my headset after a couple of months after purchasing. I didn’t want to return and so I looked for a cable that potentially fixed my charging issue, and using this cable did the trick! My dock would take forever (like 8 hours+) to even charge my headset and now its charging back to normal times and haven’t had issues ever since. The only thing to keep in mind here is the length of the cable, it is short so depending on your setup you may need a longer cable.

Works great with my Firestick 4k's
I bought the 2 pack and used one on each of my firestick 4k's for faster wired network speed and possibly adding storage later on. I connected everything up and it all just worked right away. One note since the firestick is only usb 2.0 when I did a local network speed test I only was getting about 250Mbs but that is all I was looking for. I am going to be streaming 4k movies from my plex server and wanted to be sure I had plenty of bandwidth. From the research I've been doing 4k can possible spike above 100Mbs so I didnt want the Amazon brand ethernet adapter.

Does Not Work
Quite simply does not work. I connected the “data and power” male into a router providing just data and the “power only” male into a charging brick and then the ipad I needed to both charge and be tethered to the female USB. Data works, no charging. Useless.

Good splitter but some users gave low scores because they don't understand the purpose. USB limits each port to a current draw of 500mA. Using a splitter such as this doubles current supply to 1000 mA or 1A. It's designed to connect device such as portable hard drive that may drawer current higher than 500 mA. That's all this does, no more and no less. Don't use this to connect two computers/keyboard/mouse. For proper connection, do a simple test with a USB thumb drive. Connect one male end to the PC and attach thumb drive to female end. If computer detects it, that male end has the data signal. The other one will only have a power connection. If it is not detected, try the other male end.

I believe that this product works fine.
I bought this as I had read that this could double the juice I send from a laptop to an external DVD drive in hopes that it would get it working but there may be something else wrong as it did not work. However, I believe that this product works fine.

They are what they claim to be, but do not support Gen 2 (10Gbps) speeds
I did not buy these expecting them to support Gen 2 speed (10Gbps) and sure enough, they don't (when plugging in a USB-A Gen 2 device, it gets downgraded by the host to 5Gbps). The 5Gbps works fine though (and in fact can actually be beneficial if you WANT a device to run at the slower speed... I have some cheap Gen 2 devices that don't work reliably at 10 but they do at 5). I only docked a star because this product could have been made to support gen 2 speeds (but as long as you know you won't get that, it's still a good value for the money). The Male A "power" connector has wiring for USB 2.0 and does NOT connect the data pins (which is what you want in this type of device). The male "data" connector passes through to the female data connector as you would expect (including power).None of the connectors seemed "loose" or like they would wear out anytime soon (but it's too soon to tell for sure).

bought 5 and connected to external usb charger
My PC sits in a crawlspace and is used in the living room above it. Consequently, I often have USB cables that run 6, 12, or 18 feet or more. I found that my logitech wireless dongles (unifying receiver and 500Mhz gaming receiver) often had enough of a power loss from the extension cables going from the crawlspace to the living room. To solve the problem, I purchased 5 of these Y-power cables for the 5 USB ports that I have extended. I have a 5-port 40W Anker USB charger augmenting the power, and the results are fantastic. I'm getting enough power to my wireless receivers that my wireless input dongles wirelessly reach everywhere in the room where I use my devices, even with 6 feet of USB3 extension cables.
