Beautifully crafted! Love this - was apprehensive about spending as much as I did but it was SO WORTH IT. This will be a game we will have forever. The checkers are quality wood and finishings high end. Easy to set up and the ribbons inside the zipper make getting the checkers out seamlessly. Replaced a cheap made-in-China “wood” one and this was a perfect choice. Highly recommend.

These are will make and nice. Check the size. They fit my small case great but are not the regular size. I have them 4 stars because I thought they are priced a little high.

I’m pretty sure I got a bored that had been returned, btu upon arrival, once side near the end where the chips rolls up would not stand up flat. Upon closer inspection I found the end appeared to be split into two, so I couldn’t even get this board to lay out, usually a few seconds after I’d roll it out it would just roll itself right back up. This appears to be very nice quality, but I ended up going with their smaller, non deluxe board after receiving this one used/broken. I like the smaller, non sided board better for a couple of reasons. 1) you can get the smaller board to lay flat nicely 2) it won’t wear out or break on the sides 3) it won’t roll up on its own. Again this is likely a very nice board, but was pretty disappointed when a $100 board showed up broken, I’m skeptical that it’s going to last the test of time.

I love the smaller version for portability. The down side is the dice roll off quite often. The larger board is like a full size board. They are both easy to set up and stow away. I was going to keep one and give the other away, but they seem to have different purposes - depending on how much room you have, where you are playing and your frustration tolerance of re-rolling dice because they fall off the small board or land on pieces more than the larger board. I hope the pictures give you a decent comparison. They are both well made and will serve you well.

We've all seen the small box travel backgammon sets. Those are fine, but I wanted a set that was big enough to enjoy playing and small enough to stow away in a flexible pack. This set fits the bill perfectly. It took a little bit of figuring out how to get it to stay flat, but the trick is to use the magnets and let the metal pieces flex into position. Yes, it DOES work! Seller performed flawlessly, well protected in shipment and delivered on time. Recommended!

Expensive but very well thought out design and executed with attention to detail using quality materials. Other boards roll up but have no sides to contain the dice. While this one is not magnetic the markers stay in place without any problems. Easy to use in small spaces like trains and planes and it doesn’t take up much packing space.

Das Leder schien mir zunächst etwas steif und ich befürchtete, dass sich das Spielfeld ständig wieder von alleine zusammenrollt. Aber die Magneten sind so stark, dass sie das Ganze prima zusammenhalten (wenn man brav der Anleitung folgt, die aber wirklich ganz einfach zu verstehen ist). Das erste Spiel lief super (besonders für mich:-) und die hochgeklappten Ränder geben dem Ganzen wirklich ein professionelles Spielgefühl. Meinen alten Backgammon Reisekoffer werde ich einer befreundeten WG schenken, denn diese Rolle begleitet einen unkompliziert überall hin und ist auch zuhause schön. Übrigens: um mein Mißtrauen bezüglich des Zusammenrollens aus der Welt zu räumen, habe ich das Spiel zwei Tage lang aufgeklappt gelassen: Es hält wirklich! Wegen des Preises muß man ehrlicherweise schon sagen, dass 70€ für ein Spiel schon ganz schön viel sind. Aber erstens gibt es bei der gleichen Firma ein leichteres und kleineres Set für 30€ , zweitens gibt es nichts Besseres für echte Backgammonfreunde, die viel unterwegs sind und drittens: wer Wert auf Besonderes und vor allem auf Nachhaltigkeit/Qualität legt, zahlt eben einen gewissen Preis. Ich bereue den Kauf jedenfalls nicht: für andere (elektronische) Spiele zahlt man ein Vielfaches.
