The USB cable that connected my external hard drive had been damaged, apparently by a vacuum cleaner, so I bought this to replace it. The description clearly stated it was one foot long. Somehow, that didn't register with me. When I received it, I found that there was only one place I could put the hard drive that was close enough to the USB port. Luckily, I like it in that place. The cable works great. Since it's all above the floor (reaching up to the USB), I don't have to worry about any wayward vacuum cleaners this time! Be sure that one foot is enough length for what you want and you should be happy with this product.

I have a number of HDD drives that I use for backup thru a powered hub. It made an unruly mess with 3 and 6 foot cables. Got these 1.5 foot long cables and the installation is tidy. I can't vouch for them being faster but I have yet to notice any lag in performance speed when I activate the drives for backing up files and then disconnect them from the computer so my backups are protected from whatever ill wind may befall the system.

Works good, but speed is too slow to play games off of (x box series s). Works great for transferring storage though.

Turned out it was the cable....super happy to still have 4 TB of data intact and accessible. Don;t panic, try a new cable
