In those days when we were planning a trip this year to Portugal. Oh well, I might be able to say something or even understand something by the time I finish this book and the other two I bought! And I might be able to finish it this year. Language books can be boring and this is not much different! But I'm working my way through it. Review: Great Resource for Portuguese from Portugal! - I bought this book because I have family from Portugal and I want to learn the language to better understand them when I visit. I currently have an app subscription to help me learn Portuguese, but it is unfortunately Brazilian Portuguese. It is actually surprisingly hard to find resources that teach Portuguese from Portugal. This book covers all the essentials. I am a stickler for organization and appearance, so that is the only reason I did not rate it 5 stars since there are some formatting issues. Other than that, I use this book to supplement my other resources and have found it super helpful.

Best book ever
This was an awesome book and definately worth is... I have been trying to teach my Husband and Daughter Portuguese for years. Finding a Portuguese learning book that teaches main land portuguese and not Brazilian portuguese is hard. With this book I am able to teach my family to speak Portuguese the way I do. Recommending this to everyone I know!!

A European Portuguese Reader
It is not a super beginner book, but the good thing is that it provides the English translation to each story unit written in European Portuguese.

Easy to follow
Loved it! I wanted to learn Portuguese of Portugal, not of Brazil. This was the one for me, easy to follow and understand.

A Good Book To Keep Your Portuguese Fresh
The stories are quick and informative but also very funny. The glossaries are well-thought-out and the Comprehension Questions assist memory retention

Finally a good português language guide
This book was perfect and just what I needed. Portuguese is one of the hardest languages to learn. When you buy self help it’s difficult because usually there’s no explanations or break downs to help you understand, with this book everything will make sense!

Excellent way to learn, shame it's not got audible options.

This book is terrible if you are new to Portuguese. The theory at the start of each chapter glosses over the basics and then you are presented with a couple of exercises which are impossible to do if you only use the information presented in the book. It's terribly frustrating and an absolutely worthless book on its own. Some examples: Chapter 1 lists a few rules stating how words ending in "a" are usually feminine and words ending in an "o" are masculine and then some other rules about how common word endings are usually F or M. Excercise one then asks you to rewrite words from masculine to feminine... What? None of that was discussed in the theory! Chapter 2: Theory talks about forming questions, it only mentions "What" and "Where". The first excercise makes you write a question with "When". There are no lists of words used per chapter with their translations, so forget about building vocabulary either.

I like the Storytelling approach to teaching the portuguese language. I have been learning for a while but I am struggling to reach advanced level and I am hoping this methold will help me to become conversational in the language.

I received this book where half of pages have a black stripe that avoid me to read the complete sentences. This book is totally useless. I demand to send me another book or reimburse me the money. I can share many more pictures where you can see the black stripe
