Somewhat Impressive.
Very well built and well designed. A heavy, solid steel step that also acts as an excellent recovery point. It's solid and stable with no rattles using the supplied bracket kit which is also exceptionally heavy duty. The u bolt is quite thick and plate that stabilizes the hitch is about ¼" contoured steel. Finish seems good, though I suspect that based what it and where it's located periodic painting will be needed. (all hitches take a beating over time). And, it's unlikely anyone will be bumper tapping in the parking lots with this mounted. At least not without serious damage to their vehicle. I have it on a 2016 Sequoia and its perfect. Recommended.Update: the finish is garbage. Started rusting after the first rain. If you chose this, paint and clear coat it before installing. And I wouldn't trust it for any recovery efforts that push it close to its 10K max, light duty pulling should be ok.

Looks Good and Solid
The step shaft fit the receiver hitch on my Tundra just fine. In order to get the U-bolt to grab squarley I had to use the second pin hole so the step went in far enough. With the U-bolt in place it is very solid. The paint was fine-no chips/rust/scratches. In order to remove the step you need to carry a 17mm wrench or ratchet. You can slip the U-bolt, with bracket and nuts, over the shaft before inserting it in the receiver hitch. It simplifies tightening the nuts. In order for someone to steal the step they'd have to have an appropriate wrench or ratchet. So, it's not impossible just time consuming. You can of course buy a locking pin if desired. The U-bolt should have come painted so as to not rust and match the step. It gives a real nice solid step from which you can swing your leg over the tailgate to get in the truck bed. The step bumper is just too narrow to do this safely. Someone referred to it as a Prius Spear-LOL.

Great step, rusts quick
Easy install, super solid, deters a-hole tailgaters, esp. on a lifted truck. Like other reviewers have noted, it does show signs of rust rather quick (< 90 days), so a blast of Rustoleum / paint of choice is a must at some point.

Had to modify… :(
It’s a high quality hitch step. Feels extremely sturdy. I had trouble getting it into the hitch of my 2020 Toyota 4Runner. That worried me because i don’t want to get stuck and not be able to switch to a tow hitch on a whim. There’s nothing obstructing it in my hitch, but the step wasn’t perfectly square at the insert. Fortunately I have a grinder and files so I could correct it, then recoat with underbody rubberized paint. I wanted to coat anyway after seeing some paint issue reviews.Check for squareness before attempting install. I saw other reviews about paying to return so tread lightly if you don’t have tools to correct shape and fit. Seems like the manufacturer needs to check quality on this front.

Good hitch
Nice hitch to step up into the back of an suv. Hasn't rusted or chipped in the months that's we've had it on the car.

Modification required. Maybe.
Sure enough, it didn't fit my aftermarket Draw-Tite hitch out of the box.A flap disc made short work of taking the paint off the top, when then allowed it to fit. A little black spray paint later and it looks (almost) factory again. It seems to me the receiver portion is the right size, but the thick paint/coating they apply during manufacturing then makes it too big.Outside of that, it is quite heavy. Hopefully that means sturdy. I certainly wouldn't want to get hit with it.The anti-rattle bracket is a nice addition.Packaged surprisingly well in a custom foam insert. So it doesn't simply bang around inside the cardboard box like many products.

It is built like a brick outhouse.
This thing is a beast! Solid metal through and trought. Well painted in a black coating. Just the thing I need to keep crappy drivers from parking too close.

Prius spear Protects rear of truck!!
I love this thing! first off it protects the rear of the truck if somebody runs into the back of me in traffic or in a parking lot. Also you can hook a chain to it or a tow strap to flat tow somebody it's thick it's heavy you are not going to bend or Break It!! I like that I can see it in my rear view camera gives me a reference plus I have noticed people have been staying farther off my rear bumper at street lights lol. I installed it upside down so it was a little higher and you can't use the anti rattle plate like that the U-Bolt is not long enough which sucks but I don't hear it rattling much. The only thing they could do better is make the U-Bolt just a little bit longer. Love the Prius spear!!!Update just used this to pull another stuck truck that had a trailer about 10,000 pounds used a soft shackle to hook to this! it was awesome so much better than a ball you do not want to pull with a ball they can break and go flying so this is great for pulling people with chains or toe straps could no be happier!
