Excellent value for great product
I almost never review anything I buy on Amazon, but this product deserves it. I just finished assembling the 10 frame deep box and I’m just completely blown away. Very simple assembly with pre drilled holes and perfectly cut/fit pieces. Took about an hour all together. Well worth the time for being almost 50% the price of a Mann-Lake pre-assembled box, and I even think the quality of the wood is better.

Well made and easy to assemble.
Well made and easy to assemble. Frames are held together with small nails (included) The box has perfectly cut dovetail corners, and held together with screws (included). All the pieces were cut to fit perfect and all was very easy to assemble. The wax coating smelled wonderful and also helped to keep the pieces together while assembling. No need to paint. Would buy again.

Very well made.
Looks great on my old hive! Better deal than local “big box stores “.Fit is perfect, after assembling the first comb, the rest were easy to assemble. Very sturdy, very good value! Bees are loving it!

A solid choice at an affordable cost.
A solid product for beekeepers new and old, both with ease of assembly and cost, but a word of warning; the frames are surprisingly delicate and the wood of both the frames and the box itself can split easily. Also, the surface is a tad difficult to coat due to the hydrophobic beeswax coating already present, so if you plan on applying any kind of paint, stains, or varnish, stretch out the application process over the span of several days and be sure to leave ample time for it to dry. I applied a weather-proofing stain to my boxes over the course of a week and it took roughly 4 days to finally finish drying, even though it would ordinarily dry in 2. That said, the added effort is worth it to give your hive that personal touch.

Absolutely the best hive box I've assembled so far!
I am a first year beekeeper who currently has only two hives. Each of those hives are from different manufacturers and one is wax-dipped while the other was unfinished and I had to find and use genuine tung oil to finish it. I prefer the wax-dipped hive for esthetic reasons and the claim of better longevity than painted hives. The problem I found with both hives was the fit of the boxes were both extremely tight and assembling them require a rubber mallet and the process cracked one of the boxes on each hive. Not so with this Bee Castle deep box! The fit was tight, but precisely fitted, requiring no hammering on the box to assemble, just solid bodily force to make the dovetails fit together perfectly. I didn't have to shave wax out of the dovetail joints to assemble the box. The quality of the frame parts for the wax foundations are equally a precise and quality fit. I simply could not be more pleased. I have two more complete large Bee Castle bee hives on order and can't wait to see if the quality standards are as high as this deep box has proven to be. If so, Bee Castle, you've made a customer for life!
