This pencil works well
I like the quality and the ease of use. When you are marking lumber, the pencil is reliable. The lead is easy to see. The lead is durable. The pencil seats well in the holder. I am not so impressed with the sandpaper sharpener. I would prefer a grate. The pencil is for serious carpentry.

By far the best mechanical carpenter pencil on the market today.
I'm always looking for better and easier ways to mark materials and cuts while I'm doing woodworking projects. Once I came across the Pica markers and mechanical pencils, I've not looked at any other markers or pencils. These are by far the best pencils I've come across - and I've used lots. This one marks like a traditional carpenter's pencil, but in a mechanical housing. The little sharpening board on the side is a nice touch. These cost a bit more, but are worth every penny.

Good size for bigger hands.
The pencils are great, they hold up the beatings in my side pocket and don’t fall off when I clip them in. I have bigger hands so these are clutch to grab and hold so I bought a few to have in different colors for different markings. As far as value for the money anything well made is going to cost more than a throwaway version of it, it would be better if it was less money but in somethings it’s better to suck it up and just get it.

My favorite carpenter pencils
I love these pencils and leads. I’ve tried tons of pencils, as I am a carpenter by trade...these are my favorite. Produces quality, fine lines. Great built-in sharpener. Clip holds to pocket well when accessing the pencil for use. Leads are strong.
